1993. The GMC Typhoon.

The fastest thing on the street in its day. Before lightnings Before Trackhawks. Before launch control was a button.

This one? One of just 77 built in Apple Red. It spent 16 years in Japan, making an already rare truck spec even more desirable.

It’s the kind of vehicle that doesn’t need to scream for attention. The people who know… know.

Outwest 2026 has officially come and gone.

We’ve been part of the Outwest Truck Fest family since the very first show, and every year we’re proud to roll through those gates.

Last year, we rolled in loud and proud with our staple builds—taking home Highest Horsepower Gas with our Lightning, putting on a show in the burnout pit, and watching our ’79 Bronco become an Outwest icon, even earning a spot on the 5th Anniversary shirt.

This year was different.

We left the staples at home and put the spotlight on our employees’ trucks instead.

For us, Outwest wasn’t about trophies or horsepower—it was about the people. Catching up with friends, spending time with family, connecting with fellow vendors, and continuing to build the relationships that have helped make Bear Mechanical what it is today.

Every conversation, every handshake, every customer who stopped by to ask questions, grab some merch, or simply hang out reminded us why we do this.

Thank you to everyone who came by the booth and showed us some love.

We’re proud to be part of this community, we’re proud to represent the diesel scene, and we’ll keep proving why Bear Mechanical is The Diesel Shop.

Ryker Hankel has been with us since our earliest of days and he’s getting promoted to “Events and Customer Relations Representative”

Ryker shows up and shows off every single event we attend. He’s the guy you love to hate, he’s even got the bear logo tattooed on stomach, just ask.. he will show you. Ryker will be helping lead all our upcoming shows and making sure our customers and vendors are well taken care of.

We’ve been getting flooded with more and more out-of-town work lately, and we can’t thank our customers enough.
Last week alone we had trucks in from hundreds of kilometers away:

• 2024 Cummins in for a delete package
• 2022 Ford in for a full build
• Cummins dually in for a Fleece turbo upgrade and maintenance

Some of these customers traveled nearly 800 km to have us work on their trucks.
To make things easier, we even helped arrange transportation and delivery back home for a couple of them.
We’re just a small-town diesel shop, but word is getting out. We believe in doing things differently—taking care of customers, answering the phone, standing behind our work, and treating every truck like it’s our own.

The smoke has settled and Cliffs and Combustion 2026 has come to an end.

I’ve spent most of my adult life, building vehicles, learning, failing and getting back up. We’ve traveled North American to truck shows, race events, trade shows. I’m very blessed to say If it’s automotive related I’ve almost seen it all.

When the idea struck to do our own show, the idea was just a gathering with my friends at our new shop. It quickly grew into something truly spectacular. Few long shot txt messages to my friends and they all said yes. Sh*t… what now?

Few months later we locked in 28 sponsors and 3 unreal media guys .media This absolutely couldn’t have happened without the lending a hand and trusting we could pull this off.

I had a few conversations. What if it doesn’t work? What if no body shows? Well it wasn’t without the work… pulled through with every single last minute idea I had. grabbed the trophy idea and ran with it brought those to life. pulled through with insurance as they always do. My response to everyone? If it doesn’t work I’ll have a great time with my friends and family.

From the crazy ideas, to doing a colab with us, our own event labeled beers, the shop party’s.

The most humbling and important part, as I closed the event down, looking out at the people. We are absolutely blessed beyond belief. New friends, new supporters and this is just the beginning.

Heartfelt thank you to every single sponsor, a huge one to my wife and my son Daxton, my family, My Team at Bear Mechanical, their wife’s, their family’s and our community!

Thank you to every single person that took the time to come and talk to me, shake my hand and tell me about their experiences. It’s something I will always cherish.

We did it, 2027 Cliffs and Combustion is something yall will want to be a part of. Let’s change the game!
