🔥 FIRE RESTRICTIONS UPDATE — RFZ REVOKED

We have some good news for our region! ❤️‍🔥

Effective Thursday, August 20 at 12:01 a.m., the Restricted Fire Zone (RFZ) previously in place for the Northwest Region and a small portion of the Northeast Region will be revoked.

That means outdoor fires can resume — but please continue to use extreme caution. 🔥

The province is reminding everyone to follow Ontario’s Outdoor Fires Regulations whenever having an outdoor fire. Fire conditions can change quickly, and the RFZ may be reinstated in areas where fire hazard and activity increase.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who did their part during the restrictions to help prevent wildland fires and keep our communities safe. 🙏

🍂 FALL UPON US… 🍁

It’s happening… just a little earlier than we’re ready for.

The first hints of colour are starting to appear around Latibule, and suddenly you can feel the seasons beginning to turn. 🌲🍂

The greens are slowly giving way to golds, yellows and reds, the mornings have a little more crispness, and the forest is putting on its next beautiful show.

Fall has a way of reminding us to slow down, look around, and appreciate the little changes happening right in front of us. ❤️

We’re not quite ready to say goodbye to summer… but we’ll happily welcome a little . 🍁

We’ll go first — it was NATURE! 🌲💚

And honestly, that feels pretty fitting. At Latibule Resort, it’s all about finding the perfect ESCAPE and GETAWAY from the everyday. Maybe your first word was CAMPFIRE, reminding you of evenings spent under the stars. Maybe HIKING through the FOREST, discovering WILDLIFE, a beautiful WATERFALL, or even a little AMETHYST in near by mines. Here we are… one month later. ☀️🌿

Our Opening Day view has changed quite a bit.

The trees are full, the grass is lush, the days are long, and Latibule is right in the heart of another beautiful camping season. 💚

Same spot.
Same view.
A whole new moment.

This is Part 3 of our Through the Seasons series — capturing this little piece of Latibule once a month and watching nature, and the campground, change along the way.

🎶 A little taste of summer in our own backyard. 🎶

We took a little break from the campground and headed over to Red Rock for Live from the Rock Folk Festival — and what a beautiful way to spend a summer day! ❤️

Live music, good people, incredible talent, and that unmistakable Northern Ontario summer feeling.

And this one felt a little extra special because 2026 marks our 4th year as a proud sponsor of Live from the Rock.

Four years of supporting local music, celebrating the incredible talent in our region, and showing up for an event that brings our communities together.

Nature gently reminds us we don't have to.

Every sunrise arrives without rushing. Every wave finds the shore without forcing. Every tree grows without comparing itself to the one beside it.

The lake is still. The air is cool. The first rays of sunlight quietly spill across the water, inviting you to simply... be.

✨ Tonight, the sky may put on a show you'll never forget. ✨

There's something magical about ending the day around a campfire... then looking up to find the sky dancing above you.

A moderate geomagnetic storm is expected to bring the Northern Lights farther south than usual tonight, and with clear skies forecast for Dorion, conditions are looking incredible.

🌌 Best viewing: 11:00 PM – 1:00 AM 🌲 Look north and give your eyes a few minutes to adjust to the darkness.

One of the things we love most about life at Latibule is that moments like these don't require a ticket or a reservation. Just a quiet place, a dark sky, and a willingness to pause long enough to take it all in.

If you're staying with us tonight, grab a blanket, a warm drink, and step outside before turning in. You never know when Mother Nature is about to remind you just how small we are... and how breathtaking this world can be.

TODAY COMMENCES AUGUST LONG WEEKEND! 🌲🐾

The wait is over... it's time to slow down, unplug, and soak up everything that makes a long weekend special.

No schedule. No stress. Just fresh air, campfires, laughter, great company, and a little Bigfoot magic. ❤️

Whether you're exploring the trails, relaxing with a coffee on the boardwalk, gathering around the evening fire, or simply listening to the sounds of nature, we hope this weekend gives you a chance to recharge and make memories that last long after summer ends.

Here's to sunshine (hopefully!), good food, quiet mornings, starry nights, and another unforgettable weekend at Latibule Resort.

Current status:

• THU006 – Being Held ✅
• NIP086 – Under Control ✅

🌲 The forest fire hazard rating has increased from Low to Moderate.

While the status of both fires is encouraging, a Moderate hazard rating means conditions remain favourable for fires to start and spread. Please continue to respect all current fire restrictions and stay informed through official sources.
