Here we are… one month later. 🍂🌲

And just like that, we're in October.

The greens of summer are giving way to autumn's colours, the air feels a little crisper, and our 2026 camping season is drawing to a close.

Same spot. Same view. Another month of change. 💚

From Opening Day's bare branches to summer's full canopy, we've watched this little corner of Latibule transform one month at a time.

Now, we're capturing the final chapter of the season before the campground settles in for winter.

Nature never stands still… and neither do the memories we make along the way.

Thanks for being part of our journey. Until next season, there's always a little piece of Latibule to carry with you. 🍁

🍂 Thanksgiving has a way of inviting us to slow down, look around, and appreciate the things that make life meaningful.

Over the years, we realize more than anything, we're grateful for the people who make Latibule what it is. ❤️

For every guest who chose to spend a little of their life here. For the families who made memories, the couples who found time together, the friends who gathered around campfires, and the familiar faces who returned to make this place part of their traditions.

Every reservation represents someone choosing to spend their time here. And that choice means more to us than you might realize.

You see, Latibule means a place of refuge, a place to escape the world for a little while, to find comfort, and simply to be.

And while we can't promise that life will slow down when you arrive, we hope that somewhere between the morning mist rising off the lake, the crackle of a campfire, the laughter around a picnic table, or a quiet moment beneath the trees, you find a little of what you came looking for.

Maybe it's adventure. Maybe it's connection. Maybe it's a much-needed breath of fresh air. Or maybe it's simply the feeling of being somewhere you can exhale.

Whatever Latibule means to you, we're grateful you chose to find it here.

As we gather with our own families this Thanksgiving, we're reminded that the things we treasure most aren't always the grand gestures or the extraordinary moments. Often, they're the simple things we can overlook when life gets busy. The time spent together. The memories we carry home. The places that make us feel a little more like ourselves.

🌅 Some of the best beauty happens before the sun ever rises. 🍂🦊

Out at 6, 7 & 8 this morning, watching the sky slowly transform as fall put on another spectacular show here at Latibule. ❤️

It was a frosty start to the day, the kind of morning that makes you pull your layers a little tighter, breathe a little deeper, and appreciate that first warm sip of coffee.

And we weren’t alone! One of our regular foxes made an appearance, adding a little extra magic to an already beautiful morning. 🦊

But here’s the thing about a sunrise… the beauty doesn’t begin when the sun finally peeks above the horizon. It starts hours earlier, in the changing colours, the soft glow spreading across the sky, and those quiet moments when the world is still waking up.

Sometimes, you just have to be willing to get up, bundle up, and be there to see it.

That’s a little of what finding your Latibule is all about. ❤️

A place to slow down. To notice the little things. To find wonder in the ordinary and make room for moments you might otherwise sleep right through.

And with fall moving along, mornings like these remind us just how much beauty there is to savour before another season slips away.

Maybe tonight. 🌌

We’ve truly missed it this season…

Those nights when you step outside, look up, and suddenly the sky is ALIVE — vibrant greens dancing across the darkness, sometimes with ribbons of pink or red stretching across the horizon.

The Northern Lights.

And tonight, we have a reason to hope. 💚

A CME — a cloud of solar plasma launched from the Sun earlier this week — is expected to reach Earth sometime tonight into Friday. NOAA has issued a G2 geomagnetic storm watch, meaning conditions could become favorable for aurora at much farther-south latitudes than usual.

And here in Northern Ontario, we’re already in a pretty beautiful place to watch.

The timing and strength are still uncertain. This is a glancing blow, and space weather doesn't always follow the script. But if the CME arrives with the right magnetic conditions, the auroral oval can expand southward and those familiar northern lights may become visible overhead.

So tonight, we’ll be looking up.

Maybe we'll see nothing.

Maybe we'll see that first faint glow on the northern horizon.

Or maybe… just maybe… we'll get one of those nights we’ve been missing all season. ✨

The kind where you stop whatever you're doing.

Step outside.

And just stand there beneath the sky.

Fingers crossed, Northern Ontario. 💚

BITTERSWEET.

It was the feeling that started showing up as summer began to slip away.

Watching our seasonal campers start to tidy up camp.
Slowly, almost imperceptibly, camps begin to close up for another year.

And suddenly, you realize…this is ending.

Last year, I found the word bittersweet somewhere in the middle of all of that.

And it felt almost too perfect.

Because how do you describe something that is beautiful because it doesn’t last?

The happiness of a season well lived, mixed with the ache of knowing you have to leave it behind.

This year, I knew the word the moment the feeling started to return.

Bittersweet.

And maybe that’s because we understand something a little more deeply now.

This place—this little corner of the world we call Latibule—was never really about the campsite itself.

It’s about what happens here.

It’s the place you come to exhale.

To step away from the noise.

To sit around a fire long after you should have gone inside.

To watch your kids disappear down the road on their bikes.

To know which neighbour will wander over at sunset.

To have nowhere you need to be.

To create the kind of ordinary days that, somehow, become the memories you carry for years.

That’s Latibule Resort

A place to retreat to.

A place to feel at home.

A place where time seems to slow down just enough for you to notice that you’re living something worth remembering.

And perhaps that’s why the end of the season feels so big.

Because when you have found a place that feels like yours, saying goodbye—even temporarily—is never just packing up a campsite.

It’s closing the door on a little chapter of life.

So yes…

It’s bittersweet.

But maybe the bittersweet feeling is a reminder, too.

That there are still days left.

Still time to sit beside the people you came here for and realize:

🍂 A DAY ALONG THE ROAD… 🍂

There’s something pretty special about a road lined with fall colours.

So today, we’re taking you along for the ride. ❤️

One picture. Every hour.
From 6 AM to 9 PM.

Same stretch of road.
Different light.
Different colours.
A completely different feeling as the day unfolds.

🌅 6 AM — quiet beginnings
☀️ Morning light waking up the trees
🍁 Midday — fall showing off
🌤️ Afternoon shadows stretching across the road
🌅 Golden hour
🌙 And finally… the road settling back into the quiet of the evening.

This is one of the things we love about this time of year around Latibule.

You don't have to go far to find something beautiful.

Sometimes it's just the road you're travelling down.
The trees you've driven past a hundred times.
The light hitting the leaves at just the right moment.

🌅 Some mornings are worth staying outside for.

Sunrise started around 6 AM with soft pinks and purples surrounded by darkness.

Slowly, the sky transformed—deepening into vibrant pinks and oranges, glowing against the brilliant fall colours and a foggy Crow Lake.

And then, just when I thought the show was over…

By 8 AM, as I finally turned to walk away, the most vibrant rainbow appeared across the sky. 🌈

Underneath it, the world was light, soft and bright.

Above it… dark.

For a moment, it felt like the sky was telling its own little story.

And maybe that's one of the things I love most about mornings at Latibule—you never really know what you'll see if you pause long enough to notice.
