Checking your tire tread is a great place to start!

If the tread is looking low or worn, it may be time for a new set.

Use a tire tread depth gauge to measure how much tread is left and help determine if your tires are still safe for the road.

When in doubt, have your tires inspected by a professional. Drive safe! 👍

So, how do you know when yours is really done?

The forecast is looking good. You’ve mapped out the perfect route to avoid weekend traffic.

The countdown is on

The open road is waiting….adventure is calling.

But before you hitch up and head out, when was the last time you checked your trailer tires?

Taking a few minutes for a simple inspection can help improve safety, performance, and peace of mind.

Be sure to check these four essentials before you leave:

🛞 Tread Depth
Trailer tires can wear unevenly because of heavy side loads. Check tread depth in several spots around each tire and make sure you have at least 4/32” of tread remaining.

🛞 Sidewall Condition
Inspect the sidewalls for cuts, cracks, bulges, punctures, or flat spots. Any of these could lead to problems on the highway.

🛞 Tire Pressure
Check tire pressure when the tires are cold, ideally first thing in the morning. Inflate to the maximum PSI listed on the tire sidewall unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer.

🛞 Load Rating
Make sure your trailer isn’t overloaded and that you’re staying within the tire’s load capacity. A quick test drive around the neighbourhood can help identify any issues before you’re far from home.
