AWOS Technologies AWOS automated vehicle escape system rapidly detects submersion and automatically lowers windows.

Vehicle submersion claims the lives of tens of thousands of people every year and occurs whenever water rises against the doors and side windows and entrap passengers. In the US alone, about 11,000 motor vehicle accidents occur annually involving submersion, resulting in up to 400 deaths. Occupants have less than 60 SECONDS to exit a sinking vehicle through the side windows but, due to panic, wast

e time on the wrong actions such as calling 9-1-1 for help. Submersion is the deadliest of all single vehicle accidents; it’s devasting to know that 1 in 10 people drown TRAPPED in their vehicle. This happens because modern vehicles have certain features that TRAP people in their cars in water: doors won’t open due to hydrostatic pressure, electronic safety systems can fail early in water; and laminate glass, which is shatter-resistant and cannot be broken with manual tools such as hammers/center punches. The American Automobile Association (AAA) found that manual tools are ineffective against laminate windows, reinforcing the need to lower windows automatically. In recognition of these safety risks, Euro NCAP & ANCAP introduced new safety ratings for car makers to address vehicle submersion by 2023. We are proud to have developed AWOS automated vehicle escape system that can prevent the untimely death of our loved ones. Contact us [email protected] or visit us at www.awostech.com for more info!

Do You Know How to Escape a Sinking Car? Good Morning America ABC News Live & GMA3: What You Need To Know dedicated full segments to this critical topic. Matt Gutman also highlighted our solution to submersion called (Automatic Window Opening System).

AWOS detects when a car is sinking, automatically lowers windows, and alerts emergency services on your behalf for faster rescue. Watch AWOS in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebUyYp0NfgM

Drowning in our cars in 2024 should be impossible, right? Yet claims 500 lives each year in the US and thousands more worldwide. It turns out none of the tech in our cars is designed to detect submersion or prevent drowning. Recent high-profile tragedies like the Baltimore Bridge Collapse and the drowning of billionaire CEO Angela Chao in her car have brought the issue into the spotlight, but submersion silently claims lives every day.

There is to exit your car, and the safest way is through the side . Manual tools, like hammers, DO NOT break laminated windows found in modern cars. This is why automated solutions like need to become standard in vehicles, just like seatbelts and airbags.

Until such tech is available on cars, remember
✅ Seatbelts Off
✅ Windows Open
✅ Out Immediately
✅ Children First

DO NOT:
❌ Call for help until you're out of the vehicle.
❌ Manual tools do not break laminated windows.
❌ Open doors; it will lead to water rushing in faster.
❌ Wait for the compartment to fill.
❌ Kick out the windshield - it's ineffective and dangerous.

We're working to bring AWOS to market and are in talks with car makers, public safety groups, safety organizations and government agencies.

Until cars are equipped with such tech, always remember :

First responders risk their lives and need to work against tremendous time constraints in a vehicle submersion rescue. The truth however is that responders may not reach you in time, so drivers and passengers need to do their part by taking the right actions quickly in a submersion incident.
