Road Rules Driving School

Road Rules Driving School Since its inception in 1998, Road Rules has strived to help drivers maintain their driving independence while leading safe and productive lives.

Road Rules driving school is a ministry-approved BDE ( beginner Driver Education) course provicer, which also provides remedial driving programs and driver rehabilitation. Our motto making drivers safe for life drives our vision of helping drivers across industries and at all stages of our driving careers. The origins of Road Rules was working with school boards to deliver driver training to begin

ner drivers. We have evolved to provide comprehensive driver rehabilitation to those who have lost, or are at risk of losing, their license for medical reasons. This includes mobility issues requiring adaptive equipment, as well as traumatic crashes resulting in cognitive impairments and PTSD. We work with clients before the courts charged with impaired driving (alcohol, cannabis, opioids), road rage and stunt driving. We are also MTO-Approved to instruct both Driver Improvement (DIC) and Defensive Driver courses (DDC), for those mandated to take these programs after being involved in too many crashes or the accumulation of tickets or demerit points. The Drivechek program is an on-road fitness to drive assessment. It is uniquely positioned as a proactive opportunity to identify potential red flags before they cause more serious problems. Founder Matthew Rivers started driving at an early age on his parent’s farm. Driving professionally and doing so safely is in his DNA. Matthew graduated from Lakefield College School, and obtained a degree in Business and Psychology from Bishop’s University. He is a certified in-car and in-class driving instructor and trainer. Janet Rivers was born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario. She graduated with a BA (Hons) from Bishop’s University and a Master’s of Education degree (M.Ed dean’s list) from the University of Toronto. She has received extensive continuing education in driver rehabilitation, and is considered a leader in driver anxiety. She is a certified in-car and in-class driving instructor and trainer.
