A recycled auto part is only as good as the professional standing behind it.

There is an important difference between simply removing a part and professionally preparing it for reliable reuse.

OARA members are professional automotive recyclers. They have the experience, training and systems required to recognize the hidden value within every vehicle—and to determine which components are appropriate for another life on the road.

That professional process includes:

🔎 Correctly identifying the part and its application
🧪 Inspecting and testing it for quality and performance
🛠️ Removing it carefully to prevent unnecessary damage
📋 Maintaining important vehicle and part information
📦 Properly storing and preparing it for delivery
🤝 Providing knowledgeable service and standing behind the sale

An unverified part from an unknown or less-experienced reseller may look similar, but it may not offer the same professional inspection, traceability, warranty or customer support.

The value proposition is clear: professionally recycled original equipment parts provide a quality, cost-effective alternative to new parts. They help consumers manage rising repair bills, give repair facilities more affordable options and can make the difference between repairing a vehicle and taking it off the road.

By our last calculation, Ontario’s recycled-parts industry generated an estimated **$537 million to $806 million in savings** compared with purchasing equivalent new parts. As vehicle and repair costs continue to rise, that value is only becoming more important.

Choosing an OARA member means choosing professional expertise, accountable service and real savings—without compromising on quality.

What happens after a vehicle’s final drive?

For an OARA member, the process begins with a careful evaluation by trained automotive-recycling professionals. Each vehicle is inspected to identify the value it still holds—not only as recyclable material, but as a source of quality original equipment parts that can serve another vehicle.

Fluids and potentially hazardous materials are safely removed and responsibly managed. Reusable components are then identified, carefully dismantled, cleaned, tested and prepared for resale.

This professional process does more than keep valuable materials out of the waste stream. It provides consumers and repair facilities with access to affordable, quality recycled parts—helping reduce repair costs and extending the useful life of vehicles already on Ontario’s roads.

OARA members are leaders in this work. Through skilled employment, exceptional customer service and responsible environmental practices, they provide lasting value within the communities they serve.

A vehicle’s final drive is not the end. In many ways, it is the beginning of its next useful chapter.

There are real people behind every quality recycled auto part.

People who know vehicles. People who understand parts. And people who help repair shops and vehicle owners find the right part for the right repair.

Professional auto recyclers carefully identify, inspect and inventory the parts they sell. And when you purchase from an OARA member, quality recycled parts are backed by warranty — giving repairers and vehicle owners confidence in the parts they choose.

These are original equipment parts that have already proven themselves on the road — professionally recovered and ready for their next life.

Quality. Value. Warranty.

There is a part of automotive recycling that many people never see.

Professional automotive recyclers process late-model vehicles that have been declared total losses—often because repairing the entire vehicle is no longer economical, not because every part has reached the end of its useful life.

These vehicles can contain high-quality, low-mileage original equipment parts that are carefully recovered, inspected and made available to consumers and repair facilities across Ontario.

By the last calculation, Ontario’s recycled-parts industry was helping consumers and repair facilities save an estimated **$537 million to $806 million** compared with purchasing equivalent new parts. As the cost of living and vehicle repairs continues to rise, those savings are becoming even more important.

Quality recycled parts help make repairs more affordable, extend the life of vehicles and reduce the need to manufacture new products.

Choose local. Choose quality. Choose recycled. **The Right Choice.**

A vehicle may reach the end of its time on the road—but its value does not end there.

OARA members are leaders in professional automotive recycling. As established local businesses, they provide exceptional service to consumers and repair facilities while creating jobs, supporting their communities and setting a high standard for environmental stewardship.

When an end-of-life or total-loss vehicle arrives, it is carefully processed. Fluids and potentially hazardous materials are safely removed, quality original equipment parts are recovered and inspected, and metals, tires, batteries and other materials are directed into appropriate recycling streams.

Approximately **85% of a vehicle’s weight can be reused or recycled.** That means less waste, fewer new resources consumed and more quality recycled parts available to help reduce the rising cost of vehicle repairs.

This is the leadership OARA members provide every day: serving their communities, protecting the environment and helping keep safe, affordable vehicles on Ontario’s roads.
