This person is a cautionary tale.
Don't be this....!!

Simplify , drinking water only - detach thisw extra garden hoses.

Heat tape - new hoses are integrated and make it so simple.

Insulation - your hardware store sells 8 foot lengths for $6-7 each.

And get your hoses off the ground, any way possible, nothing fancy required.

Yes you can! I do, all winter long.
--- Having a solid heat source (heat pump) and furnace as back up when those temperatures drop below seasonal (look out next week, -6 and-9 overnight predicted).
--- Having your water and energy posts and connections winterized make all the difference. (including a photo of what your water hooks up should NOT look like as we roll into winter)
--- Knowing who your professionals and/or knowledgeable neighbors are who can help you if something goes wrong
--- sort your ventilation - running a furnace increases your gases that need ventilation
--- Having done your annual maintenance tasks ensure you are prepared to prevent water ingress, drafts, gas vented, all systems running efficiently.

Getting into Action over here. adding this button to so you can contact me, make requests, ask questions. Starting to share resources regarding annual maintenance, fire safety, propane safety, winterizing, etc. Focusing on seasonal interests for now. Will add videos with owner experts and professional experts and as I find people willing to share and help us learn,

Okay,
so I just replaced my drinking water hose, to a newer model, with heat tape built into it (no need to heat tape it separately). Good for -40C, self regulating when plugged into power. This should have me covered for this winter!

It was easy and took two people because hoses can be tough to detach, thru a small opening.

Next part is to get back in there and tape in some foam insulation along entire hose. Double freezing protection.

Then ensure the attachment to my city water (I call it the stump) is insulated adequately - this connection is where it froze on me after several days of -10C last winter.

I had my brother in law help so I could get to know the underside of my RV.

It's a good idea, on a dry cool day, the put on some knee pads, throw on a headlamp, and crawl around under there. See what is there, where everything attaches. And identify any concerns.

Ideally it is dry as a bone and warm! We noticed that the insulation that had been taped to the underside shirting (inside) was falling off. This is something else I will fix up, before the weather turns.

I intended to video it for this group, but the other third of my team was down for the count having a rest day!

Replacing kitchen faucet with a version that makes sense for my particular needs in the kitchen.

Adding an undercounter water filter. To filter drinking water.

Replacing my heat tape hose from my city water stump to underneath my RV. Readiness for possibly colder winters to come!

In conversation with two companies who provide RV services, to find out what education that could provide. Will be tapping into my knowledge-filled and experienced neighbors as well.
Fall is th goal for initial seminars - winter travel, winterizing, boon docking, and more relevant topics for fall and early winter in BC. Including cross border travel in today's world.
