D.T.S.M.™ owner and founder Chris Dougherty began his career in driver training in 1963 in Liverpool, England. As an experienced driving instructor, Mr. Dougherty moved to Canada with his wife and three children. Shortly afterwards, D.T.S.M.™ Driving Schools was founded in 1981. Dougherty was a Chief Instructor for the Ministry of Transportation, where he taught at Algonquin College, countless individuals seeking new careers over the last 40 years in the driving instruction industry. D.T.S.M.™ continues operations as a family-owned business.
