🔧Extended oil changes🔧
While most will not notice any difference for the first 80,00-100,000kms, we are seeing excessive and premature wear on many components that should last the life of the vehicle. Remember when friction goes up, so does temperature and wear. More frequent oil changes are way less expensive than engine repairs.

🔧Letting your vehicle sit for long periods of time🔧
When cars sit they rust, which leads to premature failure. If it’s going to sit, try to keep it in a dry place or take it for a good drive once a week. Brakes get the brunt of this excessive wear.

🔧Very short drives where the vehicle does not get up to operating temperature🔧
When we do short drive it does not give enough time for everything to fully warm up. This leads to increase wear and component failure.

🔧Not checking tires pressure🔧
In order for tire wear and fuel economy to be their best, tire pressure needs to be accurate. Stop by and we will top them up no charge.

🔧Last and possibly the most important and often overlooked is not washing the vehicle often🔧
Think of the dirt and salt on your vehicle like sand paper. As you drive they sand away at many components on the vehicle. Salt is corrosive. Getting this all rinsed off will make your vehicle last longer and save a lot of money. We have found that frequent washing in the winter actually works better than undercoating.

TPMS and our changing weather
In-tire pressure monitors are great for warning you that there is a problem with tire pressure, say if you pick up a nail or some other problem where the air pressure gets dangerously low. What they are not good at is understanding the environment.
Air pressure in tires will fluctuate depending on the ambient temperature. In some cases, especially when it gets cold outside, it can drop enough to warn you of a low tire. If this is the case, you should top up the tire, but keep in mind, that when it gets warmer out, the tire could now be over pressure and that will cause wear just the same as low pressure.
If you own a vehicle that displays tire pressure in each tire, use the information as a reference, not as Gospel. The intention is to see if there is a large difference, indicating a leak. Small variations between tires are perfectly normal. If the sun was shining on one side of the car, then that side will read higher then the other. You should never ‘trust’ those numbers when filling your tires. Buy a good gauge and an inflator and use them accordingly. The correct pressure will be listed inside the driver’s door. Use that pressure value, not what’s on the tire.
