There’s been a lot of discussion lately about the Patrol Hex, so let’s clear up a few facts.

First, Whelen has earned its reputation. They produce some of the finest emergency warning lighting in the industry, and they’ve spent decades innovating. There’s a reason they’re considered a premium manufacturer.

Our Patrol Hex was never a direct copy of a Whelen product. While it shares a common mounting footprint and overall form factor found throughout the industry, the lens, optics, internal electronics, functions, flash patterns, and Quad-colour capability are all different by design.

Like factory headlights and taillights, OEM products are often the benchmark. But once a design patent expires, it allows other manufacturers to develop products with a similar footprint while bringing their own engineering, features, and technology to the table.

That’s exactly how innovation works.
