Fast Fenders Kustom Auto We've listened & experienced the frustration. Creating affordable solutions for your mechanic needs. Proto-type one was a huge hit in the shop.

Established 2021: The beginnings are quite simple, it falls under the principle of see a need ... fill a need. After working in the Auto Service Industry, I watched the techs fuss with towels and blankets for hours on end, that would only end up falling on the floor more than they stayed on the vehicles. Of course, dirt, metal shavings and who knows what else got onto the blankets, and inevitably

caused paint scratches. Tools fell into the engine compartment, wires slapped body panels, and tubes or lines often went rogue causing everyone to hold their breath while checking for damage. We all mastered the look that you toss at someone walking into the shop, or shouted "Don't put that there" when someone stored something, just for now, a little too close to your ride! I knew there had to be something better, and I decided to design it. The techs who thought they could manage with what they had always known, instantly became relaxed while working on the cars. They no longer dropped tools off the rad support, nuts and bolts didn't fall into the cowl area or roll under the wiper arms, nobody fussed about their belt buckles ... and even shop visitors stopped being cautioned about getting too close to the vehicle. Even the windshield was protected from tools and wires, giving yet another place to easily lay down all things car related. We're becoming a Brand ... you already knew us as the Cavity Wrap, but that just didn't sit well on the ears. Patent pending ... R & TM won't be far down the road!

Finally, done this customer vehicle! Originally, the vehicle was going to the bone yard, but we were tasked with restoration. New L/F fender, new rear crash bar, new custom fabricated rockers & rocker panel covers on both sides, fixed both inner and outer fender walls, fixed several floor holes, new drivers handle, reattached rocker covers due to most factory clip tabs being broken, all 4 door bottoms rebuilt, total paint job & clear coat due to severe delamination causing fading. cleaned up & painted rims ... and interior detailing.

Best time to drop paint / clear is when the rest of the world is quiet. Temps are leveled, and you can concentrate. Laying down clear coat on this project for the last time! Fogged is an understatement, but our can filter takes care of it just as quickly.

She's back inside!!! My personal ride, the one that started this adventure, is looking so much better than when we started last spring. She's been put aside to make way for some epic customer restoration projects and has earned some attention to get her finished up.

What is a Tri-coat paint, and why is it more expensive? This photo shows the explanation well. The black area is the plastic bumper skin (which currently is being repaired), and next will be the nor.al primer, followed by "base coat" paint. In this case, the base coat is white, and the mid-coat is pearlized clear. Honest, it's not dirt, but it does change the hue of the white to a creamy pearl. 😉 The 3rd coat is the UV clear protective layer that creates the shine.

So why is it expensive? Truthfully, it's not just an extra step of laying down paint, but the sanding before clear ... and if it's just a small repair, it's incredibly difficult to blend the repair seamlessly.

Rotted rocker panels not only look unsightly but compromise the structural integrity of your vehicle. Properly repaired panels restore the structural aspect, as well as ensure further rust damage doesn't creep into other areas.

Inner and outer rockers were repaired, along with end caps, ensuring this vehicle could be picked up properly at the pinch welds. We've literally tested it to show you!

Ever wonder what it looks like when you're mig welding? Here ya go, we'll show you. There's a new game changer in the hose!! Sharper lines cleaner welds, and less grinding makes for quicker jobs.

There were tears, some nostalgic moments, and a midnight scramble. We tried, but there was no rescuing the decades old welder.

Why do wheel wells rot out? In a nut shell, they are designed to!

There's a layer of felt like material between the inner and outer metal skins. It's designed to act like a sound deadening layer, but it actually traps and holds water. The back side of metal is not coated, primed, or painted. Therefore, it's a breeding ground for rust to get busy.

At this point, we need to cut out the damage, fabricate a new section (body panels don't always work), weld in, and prep the area before we can paint to match your vehicle.

Delamination, or clear coat peel, is the separation of the clear protective urethane layer covering your car paint.

Clear coat protects the paint from UV Ray damage, decoloration, dust, dirt, grime, and contamination. Once the coating fails, water gets under it, further causing paint to fade, and rust to happily start taking root. It's unsightly, devalues your vehicle, and can cause expensive repairs.

To repair this vehicle, we need to sand the entire door or panel, repaint with custom color matching paint, and reapply new clear coat.

The leading cause for delamination, which can happen in mere months to the newly applied factory finish, is mostly UV exposure, extreme weather, and harsh chemicals. You can actually help keep your car pristine by regular washing and waxing, which gives a protective wax coating to the urethane.

🥳🥳🥳 Beyond the stars super excited that this build is really starting to come together. It's been a while, but it's my personal ride, and we have other projects that come first. There's no fair to middling here. This was surely headed for a bone yard long before it should, but the rust that nobody else wanted to look after is distant memory now.
