Talk about a difference!
Sometimes an engine needs a little bit of detailing attention as well! From grease buildup, dust, dirt and everything in between, an engine bay sees some extreme temperature changes but also all the elements!
I have had the pleasure of doing an engine bay detail on 2 engines from different eras that needed differing levels of attention! For a Integra, a recent project car for someone, a good grease spot from a leak was mostly removed with cleaners and steam! Then more recently, a newer Elantra had 260,000kms of travel, dust and dirt on the engine bay, and really took to a good cleaning!
For all engine bay details sensitive parts like alternators, distributers, and other parts are covered and protected from any moisture in the cleaning process. Then, only a degreaser, brushes and steam are used to detail the engine. No pressure washing, hoses or excessive water is used to prevent the risk of adverse affects from the detail.
I myself long ago learned the hard way about water & engines when I atempted to wash the engine of my first truck with a garden hose, I quickly learned the location of the knock sensors on a 5.3L are not made with this in mind!
Since then I have learned the effect ways to clean and detail engines without the use of excessive water but instead using steam, compressed air and specialized brushes.
Whether it is to help identify a leak, improve the appearance of you car or just general maintenance, an engine bay detail can be a standalone service or added to any package! As well, its included in the Dust'in Mud Armour Full Coverage & Big Rock Big Clean!
Thanks everyone for the support!
