Well everybody the day has come to start “the new beginning” I’m sure you guys could tell from our recent posts we had a big announcement coming and we do!! But im only telling you half for now 🤫😄 for those of you that know me well know I do this because I love it !! Automotive has been my life since I was a kid , following in my dads foot steps it was implanted in my head when I was very young , the sheer amazement I would get watching my dad fix things most other people couldn’t figure it out I knew I always wanted to be just like him. Over the years I’ve done that I’ve tried very hard to make those things happen in my own way , alot of sleepless nights trying to plan the next move. Well I really did this time!!! We will be closing the door until the 1st of June for renovations and a complete revamp !! We will no longer be “sketch automotive performance “ a new name is coming but don’t worry! Sketch isn’t going anywhere I may not operate completely under that name anymore but it’s still well and alive and you will continue seeing us build cool cars , all my custom builds are still
Started with an idea. Now we’re expanding and building something bigger.
Rebranding. Expanding. Evolving. The next chapter begins soon. ⚫️

Man oh man! This was a tough one!!! So what we have here is a 01 Mercedes s600 v12 that was towed in for a no start. Now this car has a story , it had been through just about every “euro specialist” in town including the factory it came from , Mercedes, and unfortunately nobody was able to figure it out they either wanted to load the parts cannon or told him to sell it / part it out . For those of you that know me I take things like that as a “oh yeah? Watch this” 😆 we were able to get the car fired up within about 45 minutes to an hour with no new parts ( so much for being specialists 😂) BUT I was by passing a lot of systems and jumping power in multiple spots so that is not fixing it but we now knew the car ran great. Next step was getting this power issue sorted so what I was happening was this car was getting no power to the engine bay and it wanted to blow fuses we also couldn’t check codes as half the modules were down and the couldn’t connect to it . So what I did was again jump power in a bunch of places to simulate like the car actually had all these modules working so that I could actually hook a scan tool up and get some codes . I was able to get it down to one circuit which was the can bus hi and lo communication for the passenger front Sam unit, fuse box , one of the ECUs and the TCM. We then tested the million data wires in the car from those modules back to the data link and they all had connection. So at this point im thinking we have a module issue forsure , so I pulled all of them out on the passenger side engine bay and found all sorts of issues BUT the main one was this TCM pouring fluid out of it 🤨 I was thinking water at first but after further inspection it was transmission fluid!!!! Let’s go back to science class , particles can grab onto each other depending on the elements , so what was happening was the seal on the transmission plug was worn out and over time the TCM was pulling fluid through the blown seal and it was following the signals all the way back to the TCM! I took a gamble cleaned the tcm and dried it, fixed all wiring and bam!! Fired up with no new parts!!!

Well we did it , was a success and man what an experience it was.

Since I was a kid I always wanted to fix and build cool cars , Watching my father in amazement do just that growing up fed my automotive addiction until it was my turn to step up.

After all these years of busting my ass , making stupid mistakes, breaking s**t then learning from it, I’ve got myself to a point I never thought I would get to after the struggles I’ve dealt with during this time period, at the end of the day I never gave up and to this day I never will , I may not master it but I’m going to always try my best to do so.

So to have the opportunity to assemble such a beautiful car with a solid couple guys for the largest aftermarket show in North America meant the world to a guy like me🤘

We came in making noise and the car got a whole lot of attention, at the end of the day this was an awesome experience I will never forget.

Obviously a big shout out to for asking me to do this with him , To be trusted to do what we did means a lot to me and I appreciate you picking me to help get this done. This was only the beginning 😉

And of course a big shout out to the guys that also stepped up and made this happen, Couldn’t have asked for a better group of guys to work with .waynefabian .autoshield
