Wet leaves can reduce tire grip even when the street looks familiar.
On a rainy October morning in Toronto, you're rolling past parked cars under a canopy of trees. The car ahead slows, and you touch the brake. Under your tires, a layer of damp leaves makes that ordinary stop less predictable.
Leave more space ahead and start slowing sooner, especially before a turn or intersection. Keep your steering and braking gentle so you don't ask your tires to do everything at once.
You don't have to dread an autumn drive. A little extra room gives you time to stay calm and in control.
