Tomorrow, September 30, we pause to recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. 🧡
This day honours the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors who did, and the families and communities who continue to live with the lasting impacts of the residential school system.
It is also a day to listen to the voices and stories of Indigenous Peoples, to learn more about the history and truths of residential schools, and to reflect on the role each of us can play in reconciliation.
The orange shirt has become a powerful symbol of remembrance and the message that Every Child Matters. Wearing orange is one small way we can show that these children, their stories and their experiences will not be forgotten.
From all of us at Eagles Nest, we encourage our community to take time tomorrow to listen, learn, remember and reflect. 🧡
Every Child Matters. Today, tomorrow and always.
