How to check Engine Oil 🔧

1. Park the car on a level surface let it cool and open the hood
2. Locate and remove the dipstick next to the engine block.
3. Wipe the oil off, reinsert the dipstick then pull it out again.
4. Check where the oil falls on the dipstick
5. Look for a yellow or Amber oil colour.
The colour and consistency of engine oil indicates it’s age and quality. Engine oil in good condition is golden or amber not super dark or dirty.
* Oil will change from a golden amber colour to a brown and black colour as more and more particles get in the oil from the engine. If the colour is brown or black it’s likely a sign that your oil needs to be changed.
* Metal filings and particulate indicate a problem with your engine. If you see metal shavings or pieces in your oil see a mechanic for a diagnostic and repairs.
