🍂 Explore a different side of Niagara at Short Hills Provincial Park! 🥾🌲

Niagara may be famous for its waterfalls and w**eries, but just beyond the busy tourist areas you’ll find Short Hills Provincial Park, a beautiful pocket of Carolinian forest filled with rolling hills, deep valleys, creeks and waterfalls.

🌿 The park gets its name from its distinctive short, steep hills, created over thousands of years as streams and erosion carved through the landscape.

💧 Several creeks wind through the park, including Twelve Mile Creek, part of the only cold-water stream system in the Niagara Region.

🌳 Short Hills protects more than 600 hectares of natural landscape and is home to Carolinian forest, wetlands, meadows and a surprisingly diverse mix of plants and wildlife.

🥾 With multiple hiking trails and more than 20 km of trails to explore, you can choose anything from a shorter woodland walk to a longer hike through some seriously hilly terrain.

🍁 And in the fall? The forest canopy turns shades of gold, orange and red, making it one of our favourite spots for an autumn hike in Niagara.

Bring sturdy footwear, especially after rain. Those beautiful hills and creek valleys can mean muddy trails!

🍂 The first truly chilly day has arrived… and we’re not mad about it. 🍂

If you’re looking for a beautiful way to enjoy fall in Niagara, add Ball’s Falls to your list!

Just about 30 minutes from Campark, Ball’s Falls Conservation Area is tucked into the Twenty Valley and offers beautiful hiking trails, wooded paths, the rushing Twenty Mile Creek and not one, but two waterfalls to discover.

It’s the kind of place where you can spend a few hours wandering the trails, taking in the changing leaves, and enjoying a completely different side of Niagara.

And as the colours start to change, it only gets prettier. 🍁🍂

So pack a sweater, lace up your hiking shoes and make a little fall adventure out of it!
