So! My upcoming major launch has been delayed until Friday the 12th due to an exceptionally busy weekend/ upcoming week, here's why this is good news for YOU!

I want this launch to go off with a bit of bang, in terms of social media and etc, so here's the big question: what would you *actually* like to see as a promotion? Magic book? Magic trick? Show tickets? Impossible nail in block? Gift certificate to BP?

PLEASE SHARE! Many of you know me from Boston Pizza Nanaimo and a great number of you have told me of your inspired youth who are now learning magic! Tonight's story comes from a birthday party I did this weekend. About 1/3 of the way through, I notice that the birthday boy is crying in his mom's arms. I find out rather quickly that some of his party attendees were saying that 'magic isn't real' and this is what brought the young fellow to tears.

This happened just as I was about to start my rope routine - it is without arrogance that I can safely say I am quite adept with rope, so I assured the fellow that "This would be pure, real magic, and there is no way it could be anything else. If you'll come back and sit in the middle, you'll see how real it is! Even they will have to admit it!"

Well, the critics were silenced, the eyes were dried, and at the end of the show, he came up to to me and said:

"Thank you so much! Next year, I'm inviting you to my party. Like, not to do magic stuff, but just come 'cause I want you here."

Story from last night at Boston Pizza! It takes a lot to throw me off while I'm doing my BP gigs - if you've been there with your youth, you know I joke and talk and have fun while some wildly random conversations take place. Well, last night I was in the middle of one of those conversations with an approx. 9 year old fellow.

Him: "I'm in hockey"
Me: "Oh yeah? Prove it!"

Him: (in a restaurant booth) gets up on his knees, spread in good shooting stance. Takes a hand, makes a fist, raises it out to his side about chest high.

- I'm thinking he's about to mimic a slapshot. Nope.

He jackhammers that fist right between his legs. About five hits in two seconds. Looks at me with a confident 'told-yah-so' grin.

He proved he was in hockey by providing a live demonstration of his protective gear.

I love my job.

Holy cow! Busy night tonight at Boston Pizza Nanaimo! I stayed to perform for an extra hour! Thank you to everyone who comes out and makes these evenings the successes they are! So, here is tonights story :D

I approach a table of two regulars - an awesome young fellow and his mom. I didn't see on my approach, but realize as soon as I'm tableside that the young guy is on the phone. He sees me and before I can quote Arnold Schwarzenegger he says "Oh! The magician is here! Would you like to say hi?"

Next thing you know, I'm being handed the phone....

We make some small talk and I handed the phone back. It was cool to think of being that significant to the young guy that this was a natural extension of the relationship we have built - it's not just ad copy when I say I develop relationships with folks here, and it's humbling to experience it! I do genuinely appreciate each visit from all of you!

Ok ok, I know I said Wednesday, but I'm *way too excited* and want to share this! Nanaimo has it's own recurring magic show! The good folks - Brett and Cy - at Boston Pizza Nanaimo have further teamed up with The Con Man to start Wednesday Night Wonders! On the second Wednesday of each month, BP will host a full family magic show in their upstairs seating area! With tons of laughs, interaction and magic to stun all ages, this is a great family night out! This starts November 8th, and you can find tickets at www.BostonPizzaMagician.com !
