After hearing about San Josef Bay for years, I finally got to see it for myself.

The photos don't do it justice.
Hidden sea caves, massive rock formations, endless beach, and one of the most incredible sunsets I've ever witnessed on Vancouver Island. This place feels like something out of another world.

We spent the day exploring the shoreline, hiking through the caves, and taking in a landscape that reminds you how wild and untouched the North Island really is.

If you've never been to San Josef Bay, put it on your list.
Trust me.

After months of talking about it, we finally loaded up the Jeeps and headed north.

This is Episode 1 of our North Island Adventure Series.

The goal was pretty simple: get to Alder Bay, get settled in, meet up with Tim and Ryne, have a few laughs, play some Risk, and kick off what turned into an incredible trip.

I've lived on Vancouver Island for years and there are still places up here that absolutely blow me away. This trip reminded me how much we take for granted in our own backyard.

If you've ever thought about heading north, do it.

And if you've already been, what's your favourite spot on Vancouver Island?

Episode 2 is already edited and on deck. Next stop: San Josef Bay. After seeing it for myself, I can honestly say it's one of the most incredible beaches I've ever been to.
