After 30 years of experience in the Automotive industry, he knows all aspects of automotive repair. Kirk is also the host of "Auto Experts" on Cogeco23, where Kirk appears live every Wednesday night at 8:00pm. Kirk has been a guest on CTV, Global, The Learning Channel, "Silverman Helps," and "Michael Coren Live" where he has helped consumers with their car questions and general automobile queries. With a Master ASE certification, both GM and Toyota factory training, GM specialist electronics training, and accreditation as a Drive Clean Inspector and Repair Technician, Kirk has certainly kept current and expanded his broad expertise. During 1987-1992, Kirk prepared race cars for Ron Fellows, Richard Spenard and David Empringham in the Players GM Motorsport series. His cars won in 1988, 1990, and 1991 in the GM Motorsport series as well as in 1990 and 1991 in the Firehawk Endurance series in which he raced from 1988 to 1992. Kirk works with consumer protection groups such as the Ministry of Business Relations, the CAA, and APA to better the auto repair industry and to ensure consumer satisfaction.

Get • Canada 🇨🇦 bet big on the EV economy before proving the economics actually worked. Now reality is arriving.

Since 2022, governments in Canada have announced more than $50 billion in EV and battery related industrial commitments.

Now look what’s happened:

Honda paused its $15 billion EV project in Alliston.

Northvolt collapsed into bankruptcy protection in Sweden, putting the Quebec battery project into question.

Umicore paused its $2.8 billion battery materials plant in Loyalist Township.

GM halted BrightDrop production at CAMI after a roughly $2 billion retool.

Ford delayed Oakville EV production plans.

At the same time… the fastest selling vehicle in North America last year was still the Ford F-Series.

That matters.

Because governments tried to force timelines faster than consumers, markets, infrastructure, electricity supply, and trade realities were moving.

Meanwhile the United States responded with massive IRA subsidies, lower energy costs, faster approvals, and a far larger industrial market.

Canada still has enormous advantages:
critical minerals…
energy…
engineering talent…
manufacturing experience…

But industrial policy only works when economics work too.

Right now the gap between political announcements and market reality is getting exposed.
