Are you more of a "radio" type, music on your cell phone or music streaming when you drive? 🤔
Nowadays, these are pretty much the only 3 choices left for new vehicles. In recent years, car manufacturers have eliminated CD players, so this option is rapidly plummeting. 💿
But, as surprising as it may seem, streaming music is not the dominant player in the
car. Nope!! 🤯
Pretty shocking honestly!!
In fact, according to a recent study, 70% of people still listen to the radio while driving, making it the only place where radio still dominates. 📻
However, not surprising that streaming comes in second (and even third) with 55% of people listening to music online, followed by 32% who also listen to podcasts.
CDs come 4th with 25%.
For those who are number experts and who read this, you can probably see that by adding up these percentages, the total is well over 100%! You're strong but there's a reason...
This is because each person uses, on average, 2.5 different audio sources while driving. It all depends on the time of day, the conditions and what you want to listen to at one time or another!
Finally, paid online music continues to grow at a rate of about 10% per year and reached a peak of $16.9 billion in revenue in 2023!! This is 10 times more than in 2013!!
And you... Do you still have CDs or cassettes in your car 😉
