4 – PAY ATTENTION TO TIRES
Move the car once a week as mentionned to change the support point of your tires. That will avoid your tires from being stressed and also deformed. Same apply to store your winter tires.
However, check the tire pressure often as this can impact handling, wear and driving quality. As temperature finally gets better, pressure is also changing (law of physics!) and needs to be adjusted.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS:
When the main computer detects a problem, a light on the dashboard turns on. In some vehicles, a red light indicates issues that need immediate attention. In others, if the check engine light is flashing, the problem could also lead to serious damage. Your certified NAPA AUTOPRO technician will use a scan tool to get the diagnostic trouble code(s) of a defective part or component.

**For accurate warning light meanings, please refer to your vehicles owner manual**

Tips for keeping your car in good condition during COVID-19.
Tip #3: Mind the brakes
If your vehicle is parked for a while, some rust may be now covering your brake system.
1 – Start slowly and perform a few brakes pressing gently on the pedal. This will remove rust on the surface of the rotor.
2- if the noise does not stop after a few brakes, rust has probably damaged more that just your rotor and you should perform a brake service.
3 – Hand brake: It’s best not to use the hand brake unless your vehicle is parked on a slope. When the hand brake is engaged, the cable that connects to the back axle tightens. If the hand brake is engaged for a long period of time, problems may arise when it is released.

Tips for keeping your car in good condition during COVID-19.
#2: Keep your fuel tank full
Empty tank may be a source of issues during long period.
The fuel tank should never be left empty or at the reserve level, as it may deteriorate. Ideally, your vehicle should have at least half a tank of fuel.

Tips for keeping your car in good condition during COVID-19.

#1- Start your car at least once a week:
This will allow the car fluids to circulate, especially the lubricant, thus protecting all of the engine components. Also, it will help keep your battery charged.
Avoid short trips (less than 5 km). Going to the grocery? Try to find a way to drive at least 10-15km (even more): it will remove water from your exhaust and your engine will reach its optimal temperature.

40 Years Servicing Milton

Bob’s Auto Service was established in 1978 by Bob Wilson. Bob started his automotive mechanic apprenticeship at Trafalgar Motors in Milton, Ontario. His love for cars, especially Mercury and Ford, grew and he decided to build a business based on his passion. Bob began as a one man operation which developed into a successful business with multiple employees.

As a family business it was only natural for Bob’s children to become a part of operation. Kevin, Bob’s youngest son, began his journey at the shop in 1996. The father & son partnership continued to demonstrate the authentic family values and dynamic of the business.

After 30 Years of hard work, Bob decided it was time to transition the business to his son Kevin. Bob’s Auto Service and The Wilson family has become an essential part of the old and new Milton experience. Now retired, Bob’s enjoyment for cars lives on with the restoration of antique cars and trucks in his personal garage.

Bob’s Auto Service is very proud to be celebrating 40 years in the automotive service industry. As one of the oldest automotive shops in Milton, Kevin and The Wilson family would like to extend an enormous THANK YOU to the entire community that has supported us over the many years!
