Say hello to this week’s Bruce Brags feature, Margaret Lynds, Accounting Assistant at Truro Volkswagen! 👋
For nearly 11 years, Margaret has been a ray of sunshine at Truro VW and truly is one of those people who makes the workplace brighter. She wears many hats, is always willing to jump in wherever she’s needed, and brings plenty of laughs along the way. If you’ve spent any time around Truro VW, chances are you’ve had the pleasure of meeting Margaret!
When asked what she enjoys most about her job, Margaret summed it up perfectly: “I enjoy doing life with people. I like chatting with staff, customers, couriers, anyone that makes eye contact is a target!"
When Margaret first joined the team, accounting was pretty new territory. Looking back, she’s proud of just how far she’s come: “When I started 10 years ago, I knew very little about accounting. I am kinda proud that I can hold my own now while talking numbers, throw in a couple ‘balancing, reconciling’ words, and I actually seem credible.” Haha!
Outside of work, Margaret loves spending time with her granddaughter and playing pickleball. She also loves a good drive and says her next career might just be long-haul trucking… “if I ever learn to back up using my mirrors.” 😂
And for anyone thinking about joining the team, Margaret has some important advice: “Joining the Truro VW team requires a sense of humor, but if you are a good worker, with a great attitude, and a team player, we are the spot for you… and it’s a bonus if you can bake cookies.” 🍪
