The Dory Shop A small historic wooden dory building yard in the UNESCO World Heritage Town Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

In 1916, back when fishing schooners filled Lunenburg's habour, Lawrence Allen opened The Dory Shop. Today, 100 years later, we continue to build wooden dories using the same jigs and patterns and many of the same tools and with the same types of wood Lawrence used so many years ago.

CBC Nova Scotia came by to check out our Dory Workshop and we had a load of fun. Special thanks to Colin North for covering the working waterfront of Lunenburg. It’s special place and we are proud to be a part of it!

Building a boat in two weeks with the five dudes and Morgan at the helm has been incredible.
