What is a Private Sale Coordinator?
Car dealerships all around the world hire Private Sale Companies to host sales for them. Some manufacturers require dealerships to host a certain amount of sales while others leave it up to the dealerships to use them or not. What Private Sale Companies do is scour through a dealerships database looking for customers who would best benefit from upgrading their vehicle’s and send them personal invitations to a sale just for those customers. Manufacturers usually pay dealerships extra money on units sold during a Private Sale making this an ideal time for a previous (or new) customer to upgrade their current vehicle.
A Private Sale Coordinator is the person who hosts the sale at the dealership. These people usually have had years of experience working in dealerships themselves, many as managers, general managers and some even as previous owners. They not only help facilitate the sale but also provide training to many of the salespeople at the dealerships they attend. They also act as a “middle man” between customers and the dealership, doing all they can to ensure customers are not only treated fairly but also receive amazing deals.
One of the most frequently asked questions I get from customers is “When is the best time to purchase a vehicle?”. There are so many variables to that question that the one true answer is when you see your dealership holding a private sale. Like previously stated, during a private sale many manufacturers give back the dealerships a certain amount of money on many of their vehicles. Also, the dealership wants their sales to be prosperous and will deal a bit more than usual during a private sale.
