WSOTR Jeeps

WSOTR Jeeps A small group of jeeps enjoying everything that they were built to do in the Kawartha Lakes Based on the Wrong Side of the Scugog River in Lindsay, Ontario.

You will find a diverse group of jeep enthusiasts ready to take their jeeps off road and tackle any adventure. Although we are just a group of people we look at each other like family and are always ready to lend a helping hand to any jeeper in need of help. We focus on helping our members learn about their jeeps and encourage them to take part in the repair and build portion that is always a part

of the jeep lifestyle. Constant trail runs and meets, there is always a garage door left open for any family to stop in and work on their jeeps or simply share stories. We arent a jeep group, we are a jeep family

Sometimes when an idea strikes you, you just gotta do it.

We have all thought that. Out on the trail, in a parking lot, in traffic,

"I can climb that"

And well Gary Cameron gave it a go!

Tread lightly and enjoy the outdoors!

Happy May 1st!

Yes it has finally arrived and that means trails are open!

Please make sure when you head out to enjoy a trail you do it safely, and please submit a trail report so we can update our trail index.

Speaking of updates! We have a few of our own.

Picard Lake Trail (Off of the 507)

There is logging in the area, so be cautious when on trail. There is equipment and vehicles. Please be respectful of all other users.

Towards the south end of the trail you will notice a temporary bypass, marked by KATVA markers. Please make sure to take your time and use the bypass as marked. With our forestry partners, they have agreed to repair the area, but it will be later in the season. We shall keep you updated!

Have a great first weekend out on the trails! Remember to tread lightly, and as always, please submit trail reports!

Please make sure to plan accordingly and avoid the area of possible.

On Saturday, May 9th, the is running their annual performance rally, "Rally of the Voyageurs" using the Fire Access Road running from Hwy 507 to the Parnell Quarry. They won't be using any of the Loom Lake / Crystal Lake portion of the road this spring.

Signs will be posted on the road and at the junction of the Loom Lake Road. They'll be controlling traffic from 11AM to 6PM.

Please plan accordingly and try to avoid this area to hopefully avoid inconveniences. Share the trails and be safe.

LAST CALL.. for action now : Out for public comment on the Environmental Registry of Ontario now. Comment period closes tonight at midnight.

The Ontario government have introduced a brand-new Ontario Park classification called an “Adventure Park” which could allow for motorized ORV use. The first proposed implementation of an “Adventure Park” is happening now.

What we need from you :
NOW, before midnight tonight... click on the link below to access the consultation to expand Charleston Lake Provincial Park :

Amendment to Ontario Regulation 316/07 under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006 to expand the boundary of Charleston Lake Provincial Park | Environmental Registry of Ontario

Submit a comment: requesting road registered blue or black plated 4 Wheel Drive vehicles be specifically included as permitted use. Ideally, the land would remain Crown Land under MNR but if it is to become a Park then 4WD use should continue to be allowed.

The proposal currently states that “Existing trail uses within the site include hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and biking as well as all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and snowmobile travel. Existing trails, based on current information, are shown on Map 2.

This is incomplete as it does not include the other motorized use types including road registered blue and black plated Off Road capable 4 Wheel Drive vehicles. These vehicles use the Sheatown road, White Acres road and road allowances as well as the route leading west off of Sheatown Road toward Beales Mills road.
