Let’s be honest—flat rate has turned a lot of good techs into clock-chasers. Faster, cheaper, more hours… at the expense of doing the job right. That’s not how we run things at The Car Doctor.

We’re a small, locally owned shop looking for a Journeyman Automotive Service Technician who actually cares about the work they put out. If you take pride in fixing things properly—not just pushing them out the door—you’ll fit in here.

$37–$42/hour (real hourly, not games)

Certified Journeyman Automotive Service Technician
Strong diagnostic ability (not just parts swapping)
Someone who refuses to cut corners just to boost hours
Dependable, detail-oriented, and takes ownership of their work

If you’re tired of being judged by how many hours you crank out instead of how well you fix cars, you’ll probably like it here. We care about the end result—not the stopwatch.

Here's a fun one. Intermittent misfire. When removing the plug for cylinder 8 we noticed the electrode appeared.... wobbly. Giving it a bit of pressure caused the ground strap to fall off and the electrode to fall out.
