Learning traffic control goes beyond the classroom! 🚧

During the practical portion of our Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification course, students put their knowledge into action, gaining hands-on experience with traffic control procedures, equipment and safe work practices.

This practical training is an important step in preparing future TCPs to manage traffic safely, communicate effectively with road users and recognize potential hazards in real-world work environments.

Our WorkSafeBC-approved, two-day TCP certification course combines classroom instruction with practical training to help students build the skills and confidence needed to get started in traffic control.

🌧️ Rainy season is here, and changing weather can bring changing hazards to the work zone.

For Traffic Control Persons, wet weather can mean reduced visibility, slippery surfaces, and changing conditions throughout the shift. Staying prepared and aware of your surroundings is especially important when the rain starts coming down.

A few reminders for rainy days on the road:
🔹 Watch for wet and slippery surfaces
🔹 Make sure you are clearly visible to approaching road users
🔹 Stay aware of traffic, equipment, and activity around you
🔹 Pay extra attention to lighting and visibility
🔹 Keep an eye out for changing hazards throughout your shift

Rain is part of working outdoors in B.C. Being prepared for it is part of working safely.

Stay alert. Stay visible. Stay safe.
