**** WE ARE HIRING******
MARINE RIGGING & OUTBOARD TECHNICIAN
Stryker Boats – Aldergrove, BC
Full-Time Position
Stryker Boats is looking for an experienced Marine Rigging & Outboard Technician to join our growing team.
We are looking for a skilled, mechanically minded technician capable of professionally rigging new boats from start to finish, including outboards, steering systems, marine electronics, 12V electrical systems and accessories.
Experience working with inflatable boats, PVC or Hypalon fabric, and inflatable boat repairs is a significant bonus.
This is not an entry-level general labour position. We are looking for someone who understands professional marine installations and takes serious pride in the quality, reliability and appearance of their work.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
• Install and rig Mercury and Tohatsu outboard motors
• Install throttle/shift controls, cables, harnesses and gauges
• Install mechanical and hydraulic steering systems
• Install GPS/chartplotters, fish finders, sonar and transducers
• Complete 12V marine wiring and electrical installations
• Install batteries, switches, fuse panels, breakers and accessories
• Install bilge pumps, navigation lights and other marine equipment
• Install consoles, seating and controls
• Professionally route and secure wiring, fuel lines, steering and control cables
• Troubleshoot basic outboard, electrical and rigging issues

• Complete custom customer installations and rigging projects
• Assist with inflatable boat repairs and service work where experience permits
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• Previous marine rigging, marine technician or comparable experience
• Hands-on experience installing and rigging outboards
• Understanding of marine 12V electrical systems
• Experience with steering systems and marine electronics
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and manufacturer installation instructions
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work independently and make good installation decisions
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Pride in producing clean, organized and professional workmanship
• Dependable, punctual and accountable
• Organized and able to manage multiple projects
• Ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality
OUR STANDARD
We’re looking for someone who understands the difference between an installation that simply works and one that is professionally rigged.
Wiring should be clean. Cables should be properly routed. Connections should be protected. Components should be thoughtfully positioned. Installations should be serviceable, and the finished boat should look like it came that way from the factory.
If you’re the type of person who notices crooked components, messy wiring or poorly routed cables — and wants to fix them — you’ll fit in well here.
STRONG ASSETS & BONUS EXPERIENCE
Experience with any of the following will put you at the top of our list:
• Mercury or tohatsu outboards
• Hydraulic steering systems
• Garmin and other marine electronics
• Marine electrical troubleshooting
• Battery and charging systems
• ABYC marine electrical practices
• Outboard diagnostics and servicing
• Custom boat rigging or boat building
• Manufacturer certifications or marine technician training
• Inflatable boat repair and service
• PVC and Hypalon fabric repair
• Patching, valve replacement and air-leak diagnosis
• Transom, floor or accessory repairs on inflatable boats and RIBs
• Previous experience working for an inflatable boat manufacturer, dealer or repair facility
Formal certification is an asset, but demonstrated experience, workmanship and problem-solving ability are extremely important to us.
A candidate who combines strong marine rigging and electrical skills with professional PVC/Hypalon inflatable boat repair experience would be particularly valuable to our team.
WHAT WE OFFER
• Competitive compensation based on experience and ability
• Full-time employment
• Variety of interesting marine projects
• Opportunity to work with new boats, outboards and electronics
• Opportunity to work on specialized inflatable boats and RIBs
• A growing company where skilled employees can have a real impact
• Opportunity to contribute ideas and improve how our boats are rigged, serviced and built
We are prepared to pay for experience. If you can independently take a new boat through a clean, professional rigging process from start to finish, we want to talk to you.
HOW TO APPLY
Please submit your resume along with a brief description of your marine rigging, outboard, electrical, mechanical and/or inflatable boat repair experience to

Experienced candidates are strongly encouraged to include photos of previous work. Examples of helm wiring, battery installations, electronics, steering systems, completed outboard installations and inflatable boat repairs are particularly helpful.
