New to Music in the Park for the 2026 season - Ollee Owens!
Far more than a vocal powerhouse, Calgary based Ollee Owen’s live performances are an unforgettable, emotionally charged musical experience moving both body and soul. With the warmth of Mavis Staples, vocal intensity of Etta James and soulful delivery of Bonnie Raitt, Ollee draws on a wealth of experience, acknowledging the struggles of life while never losing sight of what truly matters. Combining her original work with unique interpretations of well-known and long-lost songs, the dynamic of Ollee’s live show creates an exciting backdrop for her incredibly diverse vocal range.
Her most recent album “Nowhere to Hide” (2024) has been well received across North America, Europe and Australia with airplay on over 1000 radio stations world-wide. Ollee has won two songwriting awards for her song “Still in Pieces”, is a 2025 YYC Music Awards Nominee for Blues recording of the Year and Songwriter of the Year, and is a 2026 Canadian Blues Music Award Nominee for Emerging Blues Artist of the Year.
“Most often described as a “powerhouse singer,” Owens is much more than the grit and growl so often borrowed from the likes of Koko Taylor and Janis Joplin. It is the honesty of her voice that grabbed me from the start and refused to let go. Warm, comforting, powerful, passionate, and straight from the heart, her voice goes directly to the heart of the listener. Her tunes deal with issues we all deal with on a regular basis and are not filled with cute little catchy phrases, gimmicks, and fluff. She makes the point that with love, faith, and the resilience of the human spirit, nothing can stand in our way.” Bill Wilson - Reflections in Blue (US 2024)
See Ollee Owens at the Echo Stage, LMC, 6:30 PM - 8 PM with a Lacombe Ford Community Showcase kicking it off at 6PM with the JS McCormick Grade 3 Choir!
