New Official FIA F1® Safety Car from Mercedes-AMG debuts at the Hungaroring
Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ in use for the first time as the Official FIA F1® Safety Car
The high-performance production model of the GT family becomes the 14th Official FIA F1® Safety Car with the star.
First time fully variable all-wheel drive in a Formula 1® safety car
Since 1996, Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG have provided the Official FIA F1® Safety Car, setting standards for safety in the pinnacle of motorsport. To mark its 30th anniversary, this unparalleled success story continues with the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+. This particularly high-performance model from the GT family is the 14th Official FIA F1® Safety Car to bear the three-pointed star and will make its debut this weekend at the Formula 1 AWS Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest. It replaces the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, which has served as the Official FIA F1® Safety Car since 2022 and has completed a total of 51 races. The Black Series was last used for the first four laps of the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix.
