When your heater needs fixing, sometimes the whole dashboard has to come apart!

This Ram 1500 came in for a heater core replacement. The heater core is what takes the heat from the engine and transfers it to the air blowing through the vents, keeping you warm on those cold days.

Getting to it meant taking apart a large portion of the truck, but once the new heater core is in, we’ll get everything put back together and have this Ram ready for the dreaded W word... winter! 😬

No air from the vents? That's not always a quick fix.

This 2012 Nissan Sentra had no air coming from the vents on any fan setting. The culprit was a failed blower motor, but getting to it meant taking apart most of the dashboard.

A new blower motor, everything back together, and it's blowing cold air again!

This Mercedes would randomly lose power, wouldn’t go over 10 km/h, and lit up the dash with warning lights. As you can see in the scan data, one wheel speed reading was completely off, which led us straight to a faulty wheel speed sensor. Once we replaced it, the car was back to normal!

This one came in with a rough running engine and a flashing check engine light, but of course it ran perfectly when we checked it out.

A quick spray of water on the spark plug wires told the real story. Instant misfires! The spark plugs were still good, so we replaced the wires and got it running smoothly again.

This Kia Sorento came in with multiple warning lights on, and the traction control, 4WD, and blind spot monitoring were all inoperative. We traced the issue to a blown 10-amp fuse, and when it was replaced, it blew again almost immediately. Shortly after, we noticed a burning smell and smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle.

Thankfully, the fuse did exactly what it’s designed to do by cutting power before anything caught fire and nothing (that wasn't already damaged) got damaged. This is a good reminder that fuses are a critical safety device and should never be replaced with a higher-amperage fuse, as doing so can lead to serious damage or even a vehicle fire.

This Mini Cooper came in with a strange screeching noise while driving. Turns out the left front coil spring had broken and was rubbing against the inside of the tire. Thankfully, the tire wasn’t damaged in a critical area and was still safe to use. We replaced both front springs, rotated the tire to the rear and now the car is back on the road driving great!
