To Our Valued Customers and Staff,

After many wonderful years of serving this community, our family made the heartfelt decision to sell our business. This was not an easy choice, but one made with great care and pride in what we have built together.

On behalf of the Quigley Family, we wish to express our deep appreciation and gratitude for your continued support of Valley Tire since 1974.

We have many fond memories of you “dickering” with Harold for a “good deal”.

It has been an absolute privilege to serve you. Your trust, loyalty, and support over the years have meant more to our family than words can express.

On behalf of Harold’s family, we sincerely thank you for your words of kindness and support during this difficult time.

Hearing stories and memories of how Harold has impacted so many people over the years, has given us comfort as we move forward without our husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, boss and mentor.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out. It is truly appreciated.

To give friends, family, and staff, time to honour Harold’s memory, the Kentville, Bridgewater, and Halifax stores will be closed February 11th at noon, reopening February 13th at 8am.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harold Stephen Quigley (82). Formally of Glace Bay, NS, Harold died peacefully at home on February 6, 2025. Born on October 24, 1942, Harold was the eldest son of the late William and Esther Quigley.

Harold purchased his first tire store in Kentville back in 1974, known today as Valley Tire Ltd. and he grew his business to include stores in Bridgewater and Halifax. All who knew him, knew he could be found hard at work in his office, any time of the day or evening and that dedication continued right to the end. Harold was the past president of the Atlantic Tire Dealers Association and understood how important his staff and the local community was for supporting his business for over 50 years.

In his younger years, Harold was an avid drag and off road racer. He was one of the founding members of the Kings County 4x4 Club and he continued to support the club as treasurer long after he retired from driving. Over the years, Harold has given back to his community by sponsorship. Numerous clubs, youths teams, and nonprofit organizations have come to trust and rely on Valley Tire’s community support.

There will be a public visitation on Feb 11th from 7-9pm at White Family Funeral Home.
