We realised there's a member of staff we've never introduced you to- Teddy the Welder! He may be the hardest worker of all, literally burning himself to fix your vehicles day in and day out. This guy fixes anything that we ask him to- from exhausts to rocker panels, if it needs to be welded, he's on it.

When do your tires need changing? Sometime before they look like this, preferably!

Tires can wear unevenly when they're not rotated, and there's a fun little way you can check if your tread is too worn with just a quarter:

Place the quarter in your tread, with the caribou's nose facing down. If you can see the tip of his nose when you do this- it might be time for new tires!

How do you know it's time to change your oil? Here's some tips!

🚗 Look: Dark, thick, maybe gritty- clean oil is amber in colour!
🚗 Time based: generally you should change your oil around every six months
🚗 Mileage based: For your daily driver, generally around 10,000 km- vehicles vary!
🚗 A note: synthetic oil will always be good longer than conventional!

With the sun shining, you might be thinking some window tint would help with the brightness! So what are the rules on PEI?

🚗 No tint allowed on front passenger and driver windows
🚗 No tint allowed on windshield
🚗 Tint allowed on rear passenger and drivers side windows
🚗 Tint allowed on rear window provided you have side mirrors
🚗 No reflective tint allowed

If you follow these rules, you'll have a perfectly legal, and slightly shadier, ride!

Springs here, and it's a beautiful day for some maintenance! Some good things to make sure are current/done as we get ready for summer:

🚗 oil changes as needed
🚗 fluid top ups
🚗 proper tire pressure/tire change
🚗 a once over underneath- winter can create damage!

Realistically, it may not feel like much but there are a few key differences:

🚗 Summer tires have superior grip in dry conditions- but all-seasons handle wet conditions better
🚗Summer tires work best at 7 degrees and above- all-seasons are good for 0 and above
🚗Summer tires have shallower grooves, and may see tread wear quicker

All in all, summer tires are great performance tires for specific conditions, whereas your all-seasons will cater to the greater variety of weather we experience in PEI. However, either will technically work if you switch at the right time- so the choice is yours!
