How do you know it's time to change your oil? Here's some tips!

πŸš— Look: Dark, thick, maybe gritty- clean oil is amber in colour!
πŸš— Time based: generally you should change your oil around every six months
πŸš— Mileage based: For your daily driver, generally around 10,000 km- vehicles vary!
πŸš— A note: synthetic oil will always be good longer than conventional!

If you need your oil checked, or an oil change, give us a call at (902) 836-3309!

With the sun shining, you might be thinking some window tint would help with the brightness! So what are the rules on PEI?

πŸš— No tint allowed on front passenger and driver windows
πŸš— No tint allowed on windshield
πŸš— Tint allowed on rear passenger and drivers side windows
πŸš— Tint allowed on rear window provided you have side mirrors
πŸš— No reflective tint allowed

If you follow these rules, you'll have a perfectly legal, and slightly shadier, ride!

Springs here, and it's a beautiful day for some maintenance! Some good things to make sure are current/done as we get ready for summer:

πŸš— oil changes as needed
πŸš— fluid top ups
πŸš— proper tire pressure/tire change
πŸš— a once over underneath- winter can create damage!

If you need any help with maintenance, or just want a once over done to make sure everything is good, give us a call at (902) 836-3309!

Realistically, it may not feel like much but there are a few key differences:

πŸš— Summer tires have superior grip in dry conditions- but all-seasons handle wet conditions better
πŸš—Summer tires work best at 7 degrees and above- all-seasons are good for 0 and above
πŸš—Summer tires have shallower grooves, and may see tread wear quicker

All in all, summer tires are great performance tires for specific conditions, whereas your all-seasons will cater to the greater variety of weather we experience in PEI. However, either will technically work if you switch at the right time- so the choice is yours!

Still need your tires switched? Give us a call at (902) 836-3309

The best part of spring? No longer needing an umbrella to work!

Cars are nice and dry underneath, and it's never a bad idea to get a once-over after a winter of salt, and grime. (We do live in the rust belt!)

The answer? Mary Anderson!

Mary patented a "window cleaning device" on November 10th, 1903. Apparently she created it after a rather snow filled ride on a streetcar in New York City. The original version featured a hand lever to operate the wipers to clear off the snow or rain! (That sounds like some multitasking we'd rather not do while driving.)

Do you know who invented the first windshield wipers? The answer may surprise you. Bonus entry if you can tell us when!
