Wooden Boat restoration in 30 seconds

Restoring a VINTAGE ChrisCraft Boat in just 2 WEEKS

This 1930 Chris craft Model 99 17' came in for a typically refresh for wooden boats. This level of care is needed roughly every 5 - 8 years when stored properly. It's very normal to see cracking,chips, and fading as the boat ages.

This boat was fully restored by Jon Reus of Macatawa Boatworks about 25 years ago, and it still looks amazing!

This was a combined total of about 2 weeks of work. This year and model of this boat is fairly rare as its the 17 footer. There were exactly 226 of these made over the years of 1930, and 1931. Of the survivors, who knows how many are left....

We repaired this boat in 2 weeks !

This whole process took us about 5 months. This boat arrived needing a serious refresh! (2011 Stancraft with 2 fresh racing marine engines) We sanded it down to wood, and built up a total of 17 layers of varnish total! Using Epifanes spar varnish. Watch as we take it from wood to a running boat !
