Dentique Paintless Dent Repair The Dentique ‘technique” is a refined craft whereby dents are skillfully removed rather than covered up with body filler and paint.

Using special tools, the technician massages the dent out of the metal by applying strategic pressure and leverage behind the panel. No Painting - No Bondo - No Fumes!

Apparently it’s exotic day here at Dentique. I’m lucky enough today to have the pleasure of repairing the aerodynamic imperfections on a couple Italian exotics.

One a 2015 Ferrari 458 Spyder with a small dent in the hood. The other is a 92 Ferrari 348TS with a couple of dents in the driverS side front fender.

All in all, a couple of fun and exciting repairs. 😃👍

Well, it’s not every day I get to work on a vintage Jaguar. This one comes to me with a very sad tale, and an owner that is just beside himself with anguish. His baby has a body line where there was never meant to be a body line.

Being a vintage auto amps up the difficulty level for a few reasons. First and foremost, the gauge of the steel is a fair thicker than most modern automobiles. Second, there’s the glass smooth finish on the car which has been wet sanded to a glorious sheen, devoid of any orange peel. And most notably worrisome is the large scratch in the paint which will likely requires a fair bit of wet sanding and polishing.

Being one to enjoy a challenge, and not wanting to have to send this car to a body shop to be repaired, I have my work cut out for me. In order to repair and paint this vehicle at a body shop would require them to not only match the color (not impossible but likely not easy) but more the fact that there is nowhere to stop the blend on the clear coat. The quarter starts at the rear of the front wheel, continues under the door, around the circumference of the trunk, into the quarter panel on the other and all the way forward again, PLUS, up and over the cowl in front of the windshield. Talk about a job and a half. You’d have to repaint everything by the hood, doors and trunk lid, but then again, given the proximity of the dents location to the trunk lid, yep, they’d have to paint that part as well.

Time to have some fun. Stay tuned for the after photos.

Finished repair photos added.

It does seem strange, two motorcycle tanks with very similar dents in as many weeks.

Normally I might have the opportunity to repair about 15 motorcycle tanks in one year, but this year I’ve already repaired 26. Apparently word must be getting around that bike tanks can be repaired and there just happens to be someone crazy enough to do the work. LOL

I would like to thank Randy at Gasoline Alley Harley Davidson for referring this customer to me for repair. It takes a lot of trust for a shop to recommend a sublet style job for a customer, without knowing exactly what the end result will be. I’m glad I was able to meet and exceed their expectations.

Haven’t posted up any repair photos in a little while, but we have been busy.

Once again motorcycle season is upon us, and another fellow biker was in need of some assistance. I really do enjoy a challenge and this was both a sharp dent, and I struggled with finding some access to the inside of the tank, and leverage. With necessity being the mother of invention, I managed to come up with both, AND made a new tool just for fixing this dent.

Rylan, the owner of the bike had asked around and apparently my name came up on numerous occasions from a a number of people, and that I was the only one to trust with motorcycle tank. It’s nice when you’re previous customers think highly enough of your skills to recommend you to others.

Thank you Rylan for not only being willing to believe enough in my abilities, but also for trusting me enough to repair your tank. Being a fellow biker, I understand the anguish that ensues from damaging your bike, the added angst created when trying to figure out what to do, and where to go to fix the problem.

Another happy customer served and ready to ride.

Well, another day, and another fellow biker with an oops. I find few things to be as disheartening as a motorcycle with a dent in the fuel tank, and being a fellow biker, I just had to give this one a try. Whatever hit the side of this tank had a sharp edge and as a result left a very VERY sharp crease in the tank.

With a whole lot of patience and perseverance, VOILA, we have another satisfied customer. Thanks for the job Dylan and I hope we don’t have to see you again too soon.

Well, even with all the smoke and ash, we’re still hard at work here at Dentique. Today in Kelowna, I just have a TINY project to fix. The fuel tank from this classic Yamaha is TINY, and the dent is a tad deep but we can do it. I’ll post the after picture once she’s finished.

We’ve added some after photos of the repairs to the Yamaha tank including some before and after photos with the fuel tank installed.

Doesn’t really matter what kind of vehicle, if you have a dent in your baby, you owe it to yourself to bring it down to our shop and let one of our skilled technicians have a look.

Motorcycle season is almost upon us and I, like many other fellow bikers, can hardly wait to get my baby back on the road.

Of course nothing feels worse than having an aerodynamic blemish in the tank of your precious steed. Especially when it’s on the top of the tank and it stares at you.

Another satisfied customer, and a MUCH shinier tank to boot. Here at Dentique, I can’t just fix the dent, I’m honor bound to polish the scuffs out as well, even it means doing the whole tank. LOL.

Well, there never ceases to be a lack of new “Thing”s to fix here at Dentique. Today a customer brought us this one for a few door dings.

Since the VW Thing was manufactured prior to the invention of cup holders, the owner had to improvise. LOL. Love the solution.

This 2016 Porsche Cayenne came to Dentique with a horrible skin condition. Never have I seen a vehicle with polishing swirls this bad. The poor owner was so embarrassed to drive the vehicle in the sunlight that he was just going to get rid of it. Though I’ve not experienced this feeling of regret personally on a vehicle I’ve owned, I can 100% guarantee, I would have felt ill every time I looked at the paint.

The solution involved about 3 hours or prep washing including washing and degreasing the entire vehicle, using fallout remover and clay barring the paint to remove those tiny little particles that stick to your paint and make it feel like sandpaper. This in and of itself was a fair bit of work, but the amount of polishing time required was by far the back breaker. We started with a heavy cut to remove the swirls caused during two previous polishing attempts, and then followed up with a medium compound and a final polish. This process clocked in at a further 25 hours of work. Following this the entire vehicle was wiped down with Isopropyl Alcohol in preparation for the final step.

I would like to take an opportunity here to thank Dave Adrian from Car Brite for all his help with this job. It’s good to have friends who are willing to just jump in and lend a hand with no questions asked.

To help this beauty maintain her shiny appearance for a great long time, we applied a coat of System X Ceramic Paint Sealant. The ceramic sealant goes on as a liquid and is removed as the product “dries”. The application time in this case was approximately 3 hours.

The Total time elapsed from start to finish was roughly 31 hours. The resulting depth of color and shine was worth the time spent according to the proud owner, and hopefully he is no longer embarrassed to take his baby out in the sunshine.

When the Porsche first arrived, the swirling was so bad it appeared that the vehicle was just jet black but, imagine the owners surprise when he found out it’s actually metallic black with blue and silver flake in the paint. Pictures don’t quite do justice to the visual effect of the metallics.

Her are a few photos and videos documenting before and after. The before shots should be self explanatory I believe.

Every once in a while I get a customer vehicle in for repairs that I'm just not sure I can repair. This particular Subaru's front fender was one such repair. The crease extended from front to back on the fender and was quite sharp and was a bit shapely. Given the amount of stretched metal I was not sure I could shrink the dent back to its original form. Repairs took nearly the entire day but the customer was VERY happy with the results.

When the job at hand just looks like it's smiling at you, and saying quietly, "You CAN do it!" Sometimes you just have to stretch your own limits and give it a try. What the heck, it's only time, right ?

Well, today I took part in the application of a new-to-me type of paint sealant. Dave from Car Brite detailing products and I applied a ceramic based paint sealant to a Dentique customers new 2017 Porsche Boxster.

The product used was the Diamond Level Protection variant of the System X product line and is supposed to be good for the lifetime of the vehicle. The actual application process of the product itself took about 2-3 hours including the rims, and we spent about 2 hours prepping the surface. Prep time included a quick clay bar of the vehicle surface, as the customer had washed the vehicle the day prior, then a quick polish with Menzerna 3500 micro finishing compound to bring up the shine a bit. The entire vehicle was then wiped down with isopropyl alcohol to clean the surface in preparation for the ceramic paint sealant.

Since the vehicle was brand new, and customer took delivery only days before, the paint surface only required a bit of attention, but time must be taken to remove any blemishes and start with a glossy surface. If you're gonna do the job, you may as well do it right. The more time spent prepping the surface, the more amazing the end result.

Quality takes time, and at here at Dentique, we always strive to exceed our customers expectations. We our own worst enemies when it comes to critiquing our work, and we want to ensure our customer's satisfaction each and every time.

The ceramic sealant is applied in a thin coat as a liquid, and buffed off within a few minutes as the product flashes off and starts to dry. There is a fine line between just dry enough to remove and too wet, and it takes a bit of getting used to, but the results are amazing. The sealant adds a micro thin layer of protection to the surface that cures to its maximum hardness within 4 days, but is ready to go in approximately 30 minutes from application. The ceramic sealant looks almost like a crystal clear layer of paint and adds amazing depth of color to the vehicles surface, giving it that still wet look. The color of the Boxster seemed to deepen with each passing minute.

And now for your viewing pleasure. Let the photos speak for themselves.

Many, many thanks to Dave from Car Brite Detailing Products for all his hard work on a Sunday, and for providing us with the product to make the Boxster shine like EVERY car should, and for many, many years to come.

Every once in a while we have a customer with a dent in their vehicle that just seems, well, questionable shall we say. Sometimes there are jobs that are better left to the body shop that are either just too greatly distorted or as in this case, just oppressively large. There are jobs I take on here at Dentique Kelowna that we can and can't do, and should and maybe should not do. This might have been one of the latter. I do like a challenge though so I figured why not, let's put my 23 years of skill to the test. Turned out pretty darned good if I do say so myself and I think the customer will be more than pleased.

The damage to the rear door of this Mercedes was, as you can see, fairly small. After many hours of frustration and perseverance, VOILA, no more dent. Can you see a difference ??

Being a fellow motorcycle enthusiast I understand the pain that goes along with seeing a dent in your baby. Even worse is seeing a dent in the amazing airbrushed artwork on the fender of your bike that has a scuff and scratch associated with it to add insult to injury. Following is a short video showing the dent. Motorcycle fenders can be a bit more difficult to repair, though not impossible for sure, as they are slightly thicker gauge metal. Another thing you need to be careful with is thickness of paint. Most airbrushed work typically has more clear coat applied to allow room for sanding and polishing to a high gloss.

Well today was the delivery of a vehicle for a great customer named Terry. I've repaired a number of vehicles for Terry over the years but this one was a little special. Why special you ask?? Well, normally I do mostly dent repairs, and I did repair a few, but this low mileage 2007 Maserati had suffered a bit from exposure to the elements. This particular job was more about bringing back the shine and returning the sparkle to the exterior. Numerous steps including fall out removal, use of a clay bar to remove surface contaminants, wet sanding the vehicle, and a 3 step polish and paint sealant. A lot of work to be sure, but Terry commented the car has never looked this good. He was truly amazed at the reflective quality and depth of color for a silver automobile.

I have done some high end vehicle detailing before but I myself am really happy with how the paint turned out on this gorgeous car.

Thanks Terry for the opportunity to return the shine and shimmer to such an amazing vehicle. May it light up your life for years to come.
