Over the past few weeks, we have had the privilege of hosting the SailGP technical teams at East River Shipyard following the collision involving the U.S., Red Bull Italy, and Mubadala Brazil F50s in New York.
Working under an incredibly tight timeline, SailGP's technicians have led the repair and rebuilding efforts on these remarkable racing machines, with our team proud to provide local support, facilities, equipment, and expertise to help get the boats race-ready for this weekend's Canada Sail Grand Prix in Halifax.
We are incredibly thankful that SailGP chose to utilize our facility and local Nova Scotian expertise during such a critical period. Watching their team tackle a project of this scale and complexity has been impressive from day one. Their organization, professionalism, friendliness, and commitment to excellence were evident throughout every stage of the process, making them a true pleasure to work alongside.
This project has been a great example of what can be achieved when world-class organizations and skilled local tradespeople come together with a common goal. We are proud that East River Shipyard and our team could play a supporting role in helping return these F50s to the start line while showcasing the capabilities of Nova Scotia's marine industry on an international stage.
A sincere thank you to everyone at SailGP for their trust, collaboration, and partnership over the past few weeks. We wish all of the teams the very best this weekend and will be cheering on Canada's NorthStar SailGP Team from both the shoreline and the water as Halifax Harbour once again becomes the center of the sailing world.
Fair winds and fast sailing to all competitors this weekend!
