🔧 A QUICK REMINDER FOR OUR SHOP CUSTOMERS

When visiting Red’s Recovery Towing & Mechanical, all customers must check in at the OFFICE for vehicle drop-offs, pickups, payments and inquiries.

Our mechanical shop is an active work area and is not open to customers, even if the shop door is unlocked and bay doors open. For safety reasons, please do not enter the shop or approach our mechanics while they are working.

We also want to remind customers that we do not have a customer waiting room. If you are dropping your vehicle off for repairs or diagnostics, please arrange for a ride after drop-off and transportation back when your vehicle is ready.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate customers waiting in the shop or watching while repairs are being performed.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, keeping the work area clear allows our mechanics to work safely and efficiently and helps us get everyone’s vehicles back on the road sooner. 🔧

We’re OPEN and online!
Thanks to our backup internet, we're able to process payments and place parts orders during the current internet outage affecting much of the North. However, many of our suppliers and other supporting businesses are currently experiencing outages or closures. This may cause some delays with parts availability, ordering and other services outside of our control. We’ll keep things moving as best we can and appreciate your patience while everyone works through the 3rd great outage of 2026 ;)

We understand that vehicles get messy, life happens! But when a vehicle comes into the shop with excessive garbage, old food and drinks, dirty diapers, animal waste, needles or other potentially hazardous materials, it can create an unsafe and unsanitary working environment for our staff.
Please take a few minutes to remove garbage and personal debris from your vehicle before bringing it in for service.
Our staff reserve the right to refuse or postpone work on any vehicle that is considered excessively unsanitary or presents a health or safety concern. Thank you.

A couple of summers ago we partnered with the RDKS & ABC Recycling in Terrace and organized a derelict vehicle round-up. The numbers were incredible. Well over 100 vehicles were cleaned up and disposed of properly. We hope the RDKS will sponsor a similar event again soon. We do still offer this service and organize loads of vehicles to be transported for safe disposal in Terrace every few months. Unfortunately we don't offer the mowing service once your yard goes from this to.... this :) but what a difference!

Not every vehicle needs a major repair. Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference to your safety.

We're happy to help with services like:
• Replacing worn wiper blades
• Installing new headlights or bulbs
• Battery testing and replacement
• Checking and topping up fluids
• Tire pressure checks
• Other simple maintenance jobs

With temperatures climbing into the 30–36°C range across the region we're seeing more vehicles struggle with the heat.

If your temperature gauge starts climbing or you notice steam coming from under the hood:

• Pull over somewhere safe as soon as possible. Preferably in the shade!
• Turn the engine off and let it cool.
• Do not remove the radiator cap while the engine is hot, it can release pressurized coolant and cause serious burns.
• Avoid continuing to drive. What starts as a minor cooling system issue can quickly become a costly engine repair.

Hot weather can also contribute to:
-Overheating engines
-Weak or failing batteries
-Blown coolant hoses
-Tire failures
- Lockouts (if your child or pet is locked in a vehicle in this heat, call 911)
