TANNER WARD SELECTED TO REPRESENT TEAM CANADA IN MXGP CLASS FOR 2026 MOTOCROSS of NATIONS IN ERNÉE,

Team Canada Management are proud to announce that Tanner Ward has been called upon to represent Team Canada in the premier MXGP class at the 2026 Motocross des Nations (MXON) in Ernée, France.

Ward steps into the lineup on short notice, bringing a proven track record of incredible strength, grit, and adaptability. Having previously represented Canada at MXON, Ward returns to the world stage with valuable international experience. Armed with that prior experience, he enters this year’s event with absolute confidence and a strong vision to perform at the highest level against the world's best riders.

In a critical strategic move leading up to the main event, Ward will line up to race in England the weekend prior to MXON. This intensive European race appearance is a vital component of his preparation, giving him crucial seat time and allowing him to rigorously test setup configurations in authentic, high-stakes race conditions directly on European soil before heading to France.

"Team Canada Management are extremely proud to have Tanner on the roster," said Team Canada Manager, Kourtney Lloyd. "Answering the call on such short notice demonstrates his elite mindset and unwavering commitment to representing our country. Securing competitive race time in England the weekend prior gives him a major operational advantage—ensuring he is razor-sharp and fully dialled in before gate drop in Ernée."

Sebastien Racine Out of 2026 Motocross of Nations for Team Canada

Team Canada regrets to announce that Sebastien Racine will be unable to represent the nation at the upcoming 2026 Motocross of Nations.

Following an injury sustained during the 2026 Triple Crown season, Racine has been working diligently to return to full fitness. Despite his immense dedication and effort to get back to 100%, his recovery requires more time than initially estimated by his medical team. After careful consideration, Team Canada and Racine have mutually decided that it is in his best long-term interest to sit out of this year’s event to focus on a complete recovery.

"We want to thank Seb for his unwavering willingness to be on the team and represent our country, as well as for trying so hard these past few weeks to get healthy for the event," said Kourtney Lloyd, Team Manager. "I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate the transparency shown by Sebastien throughout this process. On behalf of all of us at Team Canada, we wish him a full and speedy recovery, and we look forward to seeing him back on the track very soon."

Team Canada is currently finalizing logistics, bike availability, and administrative details for a replacement rider. An official announcement regarding the updated team roster will be made in due course.

Liane Langois - New World Record!

Records fall at 2026 Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials

With the racing surface considerably better than last year and more favourable weather conditions, existing records fell and new records were set at the 2026 Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials – part of the FIM Land Speed World Records (LSWR) discipline – that ran from 23-27 August at the world-famous Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA.

Having set a new record last year, Canadian Liane Langlois returned with her three-cylinder 2012 JKR Powersports 2295cc Triumph Rocket 111 Roadster with weighted sidecar. This time around her outfit was partially-faired which moved her into a different category and she was delighted to set another record at 146.349mph (235.526km/h) over the timed kilometre.

“On Tuesday, I ran a 146.9mph on my down run,” she said. “We got out for the return run and when I was shifting through my gears, something wasn’t feeling good, but I managed to get through the timed mile at 145.7mph. The very first time I ran it in 2024, my very first pass was only 95mph! We’ve come a long way in these three years so I’m very excited for what we have done – and I get to bring another world record home to Canada!”

Canada’s Queen of Speed lines up new record attempt at Bonneville

Canada’s first-ever female FIM Land Speed World Record holder, Liane Langlois has her sights set on writing another entry into this unique discipline’s history books at the 2026 Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials (BMST) that get under way today (23 August) on the famous Utah salt flats.

At last year’s BMST – part of the FIM Land Speed World Records (LSWR) discipline – the fifty-one-year-old set a new record of 136.331mph (219.403km/h) on her unfaired, three-cylinder 2012 JKR Powersports 2295cc Triumph Rocket 111 Roadster with weighted sidecar and for 2026 she has returned with what is essentially the same machine, but with added bodywork.

Bodywork is one of the key factors determining the record category – along with method of propulsion, capacity, power source and number of cylinders – and the modifications to her machine mean she has a new record to set.

“We’re putting on a fairing and a wheel cover on the sidecar,” she said. “Basically, enough to change it over to Division Bwhich is for a partially streamlined sidecar. It’s not fully enclosed like a streamliner, but enough to hopefully give me a little more speed and solidify another world record for Canada.

“Nobody’s dumb enough to put a sidecar on a motorcycle this big – just us! So, I’ll be setting the standard and I don’t intend to set the standard low.”

Despite setting a record in 2025, Langlois felt the conditions held her back and with the salt surface reportedly much improved this time around she intends to take full advantage of the reduced wind resistance bodywork should give her.

“Last year my record should have been higher, but the salt conditions were not cooperative. The salt looks good at the moment and hopefully the addition of some bodywork combined with a better surface should allow me to push my speed up quite a bit. It really all comes down to me – what courage do I have and what trust do I have in my machine.

"Last year I thought I could push into at least the one-forties, but the salt softened up, we had bad weather conditions and I wasn’t comfortable on my course. I’m hoping that if things are good I definitely want to be well north of one-three-seven with some bodywork.”

With the machine garaged around fourteen-hundred kilometres away from her home in Edmonton, Alberta, at her American team’s North Dakota headquarters, Langlois will not know how effective the modifications are until she gets up to speed on the salt.

“Usually on the Sunday I try to get one run in just to see how it feels and then we go out with the plan to fully attack. I’ve been talking to Jeremy [Ragle], the owner of JKR Powersports, about the effects the changes may have. The fairing on the front will give me more aerodynamics and maybe make me feel safer and, obviously, putting any type of cover over the sidecar wheel will enhance downforce and that might make it pull weird.

“People think the sidecar is there for stability and that it makes it easier, well, I’m here to tell you I have ridden on two-wheels out there as well and the sidecar calls for a whole different dimension of body strength to keep it straight. It’s not easier by any stretch and I’m very interested to see how it handles with the bodywork on it. I guess I’ll let you know when I find out!”

The 2026 Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials take place between 23-27 August.

MXoN - Team Canada 2026!

Freshly-crowned champions Dylan Wright and Dylan Rempel join Sebastien Racine on Canada’s Motocross of Nations team!

Canada’s national team for the 2026 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations has been confirmed: Dylan Wright, Dylan Rempel and Sebastien Racine will line up at the world’s most prestigious motocross race in Ernée, France, from October 2nd to 4th.

“I am very excited to have chosen the 2026 Team with a strong lineup of riders and 2 of them being newly-crowned 2026 Canadian Triple Crown Pro National Champions,” says Team Canada manager Kourtney Lloyd. “With Sebastien's impressive showing last year at the event it was a no-brainer that he would be once again on the Team, this time in the prestigious 450 MXGP class. I want to thank the riders for once again trusting in me and I am ready to get this year going and represent Canada to the best of our abilities on the world stage.”

With the Walton Trans Can Grand National Championship in the rearview mirror, five-time Canadian 450 champ Dylan Wright and first-time Canadian 250 Canadian champ Dylan Rempel have set their sights on the Motocross of Nations in Ernee, France. With support from the Gopher Dunes Racing Honda Canada team and Team Motoblouz Honda Motul SR in France, they look to capitalize on the energy of those two titles as they represent the nation.

“It’s always an honour to represent our amazing country and our amazing moto community,” said Dylan Wright who earned his fifth 450 Canadian National title at Walton. “Racing at the pinnacle of the sport at Motocross Des Nations is always something you dream of. Add the fact that you are racing the best in the world and it’s a dream come true every time. Putting on the Nations colours and letting them fly will forever be something I am proud of doing. Looking back at the last time I was in Ernee, I know I am in a better spot now to put up the results I am capable of and get some redemption from last time! See you all there. Go Canada Go!”

Dylan Wright will serve as the anchor for Team Canada having represented the nation four times—most recently at the 2024 edition. He will lead the Canadian contingent in the premier MX Open class. In his recent MXoN outings, Wright has consistently punched above his weight on the global stage, securing 11th overall in the MXGP class in 2021 and 2022, and 10th in the Open category in 2024. He will strive for his best finish yet in the MX Open class in 2026.

After using his consistency and speed to lock down his first Canadian 250 title, Dylan Rempel is pumped to wear the maple leaf at Ernee for the first time.

“I’m really excited for this opportunity to ride for team Canada,” says Rempel. “I’ve always wanted to do this race and I’m going to work hard this next month leading up to the race to give my team and country the best result I can.”

After a strong rookie season in the 450 class where he finished 6th overall, after a broken collar bone took him out of the series early, Sebastien Racine returns to the MXoN for the second time looking for redemption after missing the A final in 2025. With support from Kawasaki SSR Racing and Bud Racing Kawasaki in France, Racine will race a KX450 in the MXGP class.

“I’m beyond excited to represent Canada again this year,” says Racine. “It was a dream come true last year, and I was wishing that someday I could do it again! Here I am, going for my second year, and I can’t wait to show what we are capable of. We have a great team and great people working behind the scenes to make this happen! Lianne Langlois Heading to Bonneville!

The 2026 Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials (BMST) – part of the FIM Land Speed World Records (LSWR) discipline – takes place from 23-27 August and with early indications of favourable salt conditions and more riders registered than in 2025, all the signs are positive that existing records could be broken and new records set.

Canadian Motocross / Supercross

Canada will host the opening round of the FIM World Supercross Championship for the first time in Calgary, Alberta taking over after Vancouver hosted the past two seasons. Round 1 will be held at McMahon Stadium, home of the CFL's Calgary Stampeders. So far, Cole Thompson is the only Canadian on the entry list. After finishing sixth in last year's championship, he'll look to put on a show for the home country crowd as the series kicks off on Canadian soil.

WSX is a team-based championship, meaning the rider lineup is constantly evolving as teams finalize their rosters. So far, fans can expect to see big names including Christian Craig, Max Anstie, Joey Savatgy, and Cooper Webb. Despite the Calgary round taking place in the middle of the AMA Pro Motocross season, contracted riders remain committed to the WSX Championship and will make the trip north to kick off the series in Canada.

The CMA will again sanction and host the event as Canada's FIM affiliate, as well as supplying flaggers and race officials to help ensure another successful World Supercross event on Canadian soil.

Stepping into Motocross, the National Motocross season in Canada is wrapping up in mid-August after another summer of incredible racing. The series kicked off in Calgary, Alberta, with many believing it would be the final Canadian National at Wild Rose MX Park. Then, at the last minute, the City renewed the lease, ensuring both the track and the National will return in 2027. With more western motocross tracks disappearing each year, another season at Wild Rose is a huge win for the sport in Canada.

The racing has lived up to the hype. With three rounds remaining, a wave of young American talent has added even more intensity to the championship. The 250 class is led by Ryder Malinoski, whose father is Canadian, and mother is American which has lead to discussions about the possibility of him representing Canada at the 2026 Motocross of Nations, a move that could strengthen the Canadian team for years to come.

In the 450 class, Canadian Dylan Wright remains the championship leader. He opened the season in dominant fashion, sparking talk of another perfect season, until mechanical issues at the GDR Honda team's home race at Gopher Dunes, Ontario, brought his winning streak to an end. Even so, Wright continues to hold the points lead as the championship heads into its final stretch.

The Women’s Motocross (WMX) class continues to make major strides in 2026. Thanks to fundraising and community support, the series now offers a payout that matches the 250 class, and the riders have delivered on the track. For the first time in years, WMX riders are fully integrated into Canadian factory teams and are being treated as a key part of the championship.

The title fight has been elevated by two top Americans making the trip north, with Jordan Jarvis and Jamie Astudillo battling for the championship. Leading the Canadian charge is Kaylie Kayer, who sits in podium contention aboard her MX101 Yamaha.

There is still plenty of Canadian motocross action before the season comes to a close. Get out, support your local tracks, and if you’re in Ontario or Quebec, the National series could be coming to a track near you!
