Last Chance! School Bus Safety Drawing Contest ✏️

A special thank you to Arya for her 2025 winning submission "safety isn't only on the bus, it's outside too".

Encourage your young artists to create a drawing that promotes school bus safety for School Bus Safety Awareness Week, and helps keep our students safe on the road and they will be entered to win Annual Membership to the Museum of Natural History for helping share the important message of school bus safety in our communities! 2nd prize will get family admission passes to Discovery Centre!

How to Enter:
Email your drawing to [email protected] by October 23.

All youth can enter, but an adult (18+) must submit on their behalf. Please include the youth’s first name and grade.

The call for speakers for the 2027 NSWorkplace Health & Safety Conference has been extended to October 30, 2026, giving you more time to share your knowledge with safety professionals and workplace leaders from across the region.

We’re looking for engaging, 60-minute presentations in:
- Safety Committees
- Technical / Legislation
- Technology / Cybersecurity

Whether you have a fresh perspective, a proven best practice or real-world experience that others can learn from, your expertise can make a difference.

A VERY BIG THANK YOU THIS THANKSGIVING! This Thanksgiving, we’re taking a moment to reflect on just how much we have to be thankful for.

At Safety Services Nova Scotia, we are incredibly grateful for the people who make our work meaningful every single day. To our dedicated team, valued members, loyal clients, instructors, volunteers, community partners, sponsors, Board of Directors, and everyone who supports our mission, THANK YOU.

Every course delivered, every partnership built, every conversation shared, and every safety lesson learned contributes to something bigger than ourselves. Together, we are helping prevent injuries, protect lives, and make safety a way of life for every Nova Scotian.

We know that safer communities don’t happen because of one person or one organization. They happen because people care, people step up, and people work together toward a common goal.

From all of us at Safety Services Nova Scotia, we wish you and your loved ones a happy, safe, and wonderful Thanksgiving filled with good food, meaningful moments, and plenty of reasons to be grateful.

Today, our team came together for the Safety Services Nova Scotia Annual Strategic Session.

It was a great opportunity to step back, reflect on an incredible 2026, and look ahead at what’s next. We talked about the many programs and services our team delivers across Nova Scotia, celebrated the impact we’re making in our communities, and shared ideas about how we can continue to grow and improve.

Most importantly, we came together around a shared vision: making safety a way of life for every Nova Scotian.

From road safety and workplace health and safety to motorcycle training, community programs, education and so much more, every department plays an important role in helping people stay safe and get home at the end of the day.

We’re proud of what our team has accomplished this year and excited for what we can accomplish together.

Thank you to our incredible staff across the province for their passion, expertise and commitment they bring to safety every day.

We’re looking for knowledgeable professionals to share practical insights, innovative ideas and proven approaches with 500+ workplace health and safety stakeholders.

Topics may include:

• Technical / Legislation
• Technology / Cybersecurity
