theSHOP Wheel Masters is looking for an honest, trainable, dependable, punctual andhard working person who is interested in starting a meaningful career at theSHOP Wheel Masters as a full time Working Shop Supervisor, with the responsibility to also manage the daily operations of the Shop Wheel Masters at 1367 Kelly Lake Road in Sudbury. As a working Shop Supervisor, you will also be expected to perform the tasks when it comes to rim repairs, (Welding, Straightening and the painting of aluminium and steel rims), sandblasting, chroming, re-finishing, de-rimming, changing and balancing tires, as well as administrative tasks, interacting with the public on a daily basis, Training will be provided. In the event that the company moves locations, you would be expected to also move to a new location.
Reports to:
This job title will report primarily to one of the company directors.
Direct Reports:
All paperwork completed by the employee, will be reviewed by the director whom the employee is reporting to and will be sent to an administration using a process of scanning to the companies administration for document retention, recall and access, via an electronic process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Opening theShop Wheel Masters as scheduled, every morning, so that the
clients are not waiting to get in at 8:00am, on time.
• Taking phone calls and scheduling work, calls may be taken as well by a
contracted company to pickup calls and subsequently forward them to the
appropriate individual, for quoting and scheduling.
• Quoting work to be performed, as necessary.
• Performing the actual work scheduled to be done.
• Creating an invoice and receiving payment from the customer
• Ensure theSHOP does not run out of supplies
• Maintain/Service all equipment in theSHOP Wheel Masters, unless required
to be serviced by another organization.
• Ensure everyone in theSHOP Wheel Masters is working safely, by setting an
example and reinforcing theSHOP Wheel Masters safe work environment.
• Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must have good driving record and provide your Driver’s Abstract (Within 15 days)
Must be Honest, trainable, punctual, dependable and hard working.
Must have basic computer skills to enter customer info, create invoices and accept payments. Must be able to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PDF reader, various other applications as needed. In the event that the Candidate is not able to utilize all of these applications, training could be provided through an online training course, that would require testing and a passing mark of proficiency.
Must have a clean record and provide Criminal Background Check (Within 15 days)
Experience in painting and doing bodywork would be preferred and beneficial but not mandatory.
Experience in welding would be preferred and beneficial but not mandatory.
Experience working with Tire Machines would be preferred and beneficial but not
mandatory.
Background Check:
theSHOP Wheel Masters conducts background checks on employees before hiring any employee. An authorization form for the background check must be completed.
Working Conditions:
All work will be performed in the shop at 1367 Kelly Lake Rd.
Work hours are generally from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. You may need to arrive at 7:45AM to ensure the doors are open and lights are on prepared to receive customers.
Depending on business demands, those hours could increase or decrease.
You may be asked to come in early or stay a little longer than the regular hours or
even have to work a Saturday, in the event that demands increase.
Physical Requirements
Candidate must be in good physical shape.
Strength Guidelines:
All the lifting to be done is under 50 lbs
Motion Parameters:
Most of the time you will be on your feet unless you are dealing with a customer
or quoting sitting at the desk.
Vision and Hearing Requirements:
Certified Safety glasses and work boots are to be worn at all times when in the
shop area. Welding shield to be used at all times when welding.
Psychological Demands:
The successful candidate is expected to have the ability to make sound decisions
within a reasonable amount of time (as determined by the supervisor(s)),
supervise workers, problem solve, read and write English, Bilingualism in
Canada’s official Languages would be considered an asset and speak with the
public in English, Bilingualism in Canada’s official Languages would be
considered an asset.
