This week, Legend Boats’ Jesse Davis was proud to represent Legend Boats, Vetta Pontoons, and the Canadian recreational boating industry at NMMA Canada’s annual Day on the Hill in Ottawa.
The week included NMMA Canada’s Board Meeting, a record-attended reception along the beautiful Rideau Canal, and a day and a half of important meetings with Senators, Members of Parliament, ministerial staff, and senior government officials.
One of the highlights was giving policymakers the chance to experience boating firsthand. Boats were constantly out on the water throughout the reception, helping government leaders see what boating truly means to Canadians, not just as an industry, but as a lifestyle that brings families together, supports communities, and creates lasting memories.
We were especially proud to have a beautiful Vetta Pontoon on display and in operation throughout the event on one of Canada’s most historic waterways.
Key conversations focused on:
- Protecting and improving access to Canada’s waterways
- Trade and tariff stability to help keep boating affordable
- Preparing for upcoming CUSMA trade discussions
- Boater safety and aquatic invasive species prevention
- Supporting a competitive and innovative Canadian marine industry
A year after advocacy efforts helped secure the repeal of the federal luxury tax on boats, it was rewarding to thank government leaders for their support and share the positive impact that decision is already having across the industry.
Thank you to NMMA Canada, our fellow board members, industry partners, sponsors, and the many government officials who took the time to meet with us.
Together, we’re helping build a stronger future for boating in Canada.
