A lot of progress has been made this week on the “Mouse House” 2017 Toyota 86 race car build.

After the full strip down is completed, full cleaning/ washing and shell preparation takes place.

Safety first, as always. It’s getting a multipoint roll cage with additional bars for increased side-impact protection.

And because race car, we’re also adding extra reinforcement to critical suspension and driveline mounting points. 🐭🏁

STOP LOCKING SUBARU STi DCCD. USE X SHIFT 4x4 SPOOL!

For high-power Subaru STi builds, continuously running a DCCD fully locked can put significant load and heat into the center differential, increasing wear on the clutch pack over time. If you need a permanent 50/50 torque distibution in every cases, the X Shift 4x4 spool is a purpose-built solution.

Instead of relying on the DCCD clutch pack to maintain the lock, the spool creates a solid mechanical connection between the front and rear axle — delivering maximum and uncompromising grip on both axles for an unlimited period of time. Installation is plug and play, and you can go back to the DCCD unit at any time.

Available in 3 versions for Subaru STi 6MT TY856 gearboxes:

➡ Viscous type 01–09

All versions feature an oil ring for OEM oil pump. Manufactured from high-quality, high-strength steel and finished with a carefully controlled heat treatment process - engine torque capacity up to 1500Nm.

⚠️ This permanent spool locks the front and rear drivetrain together, so it is intended for specific motorsport applications like drag racing, drift, autocross, snow events and other applications where permanent connection of both axles is not a problem.

Both Subaru’s were prepared by Four Star MotorSports. Yellow WRX fully built 2L, red WRX fully built also but has a 2.5L. Which one would you prefer?? Both producing 550hp at 20psi on 91 octane fuel.

Yeah, we know… it’s Saturday, not Throwback Thursday. 😂

But after weeks of seeing Climb to the Clouds updates, stories and information filling our feeds, we couldn’t resist adding just a little more.

Yes, our records have all been beaten. But that’s racing.

You can argue that every running of the event has had different road surfaces, weather conditions and ever-evolving car technology potentially making not all things being equal.

But every record, regardless of the driver or the car, was earned.

And we’d agree.

But one thing hasn’t changed…

It’s still one hell of an awesome event! 🏁
