We will be looking for someone who can be trained for tire repairs, oil changes and general automotive duties, such as driving customers. This will be a fulltime position starting March 1st. Will need valid and clean driving record. If coming from Nanaimo, ferry costs will be covered. Please drop off resume if interested.

BIG NEWS:

We have come to a tentative agreement and for now GABRIOLA AUTOMOTIVE will continue to do business as usual. We will not be closing our doors for the immediate future and look forward to continue being of service to you. We would like to thank all of you for your incredible support.

A HUGE thank you for the outpouring of support from the Gabriolan Community regarding the closing of Gabriola Automotive. It is still bittersweet but it makes it so much more bearable with all the love that has come our way these last few days. Gabriola you rock!

PRESS RELEASE:

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of Gabriola Automotive as of March 15th, 2020.

Please know that it has not been for the lack of trying. For the past year, we have been in negotiations with like minded people as ourselves to continue serving the community as we have for the past 11 years.

Unfortunately, no agreement could be reached with the current landlord.

The stress has been heavy, both on ourselves as on our staff and we never thought in a million years that it would come to this ending.

We have put our heart and souls into building a reputable business and we think we have served the community well, as they have served us. Because we couldn't have done this without our loyal clientele.

So, a landmark will disappear and we are so sorry to leave a void on the island. But, when all is said and done, we know that we gave it our all, even when we will walk away with nothing but our heads held high.

Thank you again, all of you, our incredible staff, Ray, Shawn, Dave and Deb and our wonderful customers and our suppliers who have been there for us through thick and thin.

Our shop will be closed from December 23 and opening again on January 2nd. We wish all our customers a very merry Christmas and all the best wishes for 2020. We look forward to serving you all again in the new year!

Hello Gabriolans! Just to make you feel better let's put the rumors to rest! Gabriola Automotive is not closing it's doors any time soon. Yes, at this point it does not look that our lease will be renewed, however, we have until the end of March 2020 for that to take effect. So folks, that is 15 more months that we are open for business as usual with a smile and the best service possible. In the meantime, we are putting it out to the universe that a solution will be found for us to stay on. Either, and this would be the most obvious, is renewal of our lease at a reasonable rate. Failing that, we are looking at other options and open for suggestions. To all of our wonderful customers we wish you a great Christmas and 2019. We truly appreciate each and every one of you and thank you for your continued support!
