So I joined Deer Park Dragstrip Memories page today, My older brother Gary took me there several times when I was a kid so I remember a lot of cars that raced there, it was my Stanley Cup Playoffs to watch and I loved it. I’m scrolling through the page and see pictures of a ‘40 Chevrolet coupe gasser sponsored by Ron’s Drive in in Colville (Ron’s Drive in is still open) that caught my eye. I scroll down further and another guy posted a later picture of it with different paint and it’s my Moving Violation! I went back and forth with the guy and he’s going to send me some history on the car, it went to the 1965 Indy Nationals and was a D/gas national record holder. Here’s the pictures, the bottom green pictures are exactly how it looked when I owned it. Previous owner ran a 283 bored the max to 301ci with a tunnel ram and four speed and the same 586:1 gears I ran. I built a 12.5 to 1 355 with a ton of fancy machine work and balancing, ported 2.02 heads and a tunnel ram, 0 to 100mph as fast as you could shift with those gears.

Couple of beauty old GM land yacht’s, love tinkering with this stuff. The white one is a ‘64 Oldsmobile 98 with a 394 Rocket with a Jetaway auto trans and the blue is a ‘65 Pontiac Custom Sport 396 4-speed with factory tach and console and only 55,000 miles. Installing Pertronix electronic ignition on the Pontiac and tuning it up.

This rat rod ‘59 Viking school bus showed up at Ghostfest in Sandon this weekend. Dropped the bus on a later model 454 Chevy dually chassis, sounded really mean.

Throwback Thursday, my old ‘40 chev built tunnel-rammed 355 small block 4-speed 5.88 geared Olds rearend with monster ladder bars and aluminum interior. It’s parked about where Milano’s Pizza is, in the background you can see Merry & Mitchell building supplies right where the Credit Union currently is and Beaver Esso where the insurance currently is.

Throwback Thursday, my first car completely built by myself at 15 so it’d be ready when I turned 16. 1960 beetle I chopped into a Baja bug and painted myself in the backyard. Rebuilt a newer 1300 ported the heads put a cam in and built a twin carb setup in shop class out of two old manifolds.
