The biggest differences come down to tread design and rubber compound.

❄️ Winter tires use a softer rubber compound designed to stay flexible in cold temperatures. That flexibility helps the tire maintain grip when the road is cold, snowy or icy. Their tread also has more biting edges, sipes and deeper channels to help move snow and slush away from the tire.

🌦️ All-weather tires are designed to handle a wider range of conditions year-round. Their rubber compound balances cold-weather performance with the durability needed for warmer temperatures. The tread still provides winter traction, but it is designed to perform across multiple seasons rather than being optimized specifically for severe winter conditions.

If you spend a lot of time driving through snow, ice and consistently cold conditions, dedicated winter tires may give you the extra traction you need. If you prefer one set of tires year-round, all-weather tires can be a practical option.

Not sure what makes sense for your vehicle and driving habits? Stop by your local Tirecraft and talk to a tire expert!

Cooler temperatures in the morning can lower the air pressure inside your tires, which is why that warning light often makes its seasonal comeback in the fall.
Check all four tires when they’re cold and inflate them to the pressure recommended for your vehicle. If one tire keeps losing pressure, have it inspected. A slow leak may be the real culprit.

Due for an Oil Service.

An oil change is the single most critical aspect of routine maintenance, and if you don’t replace your oil on a consistent schedule, it will become polluted with dirt and carbon. This can compromise your fuel efficiency and eventually cause severe engine damage. True, but thankfully, the experienced technicians at Trail Tire Auto Centers Fort Saskatchewan, can provide you with quick, high-quality, warranty-certified auto care.

We also value excellent customer service, so you can depend on us to conduct a complimentary inspection every time you come in to spot minor issues before they become more serious – and costly.

We recommend changing your engine oil every 5,000 kilometers (or at the appropriate time according to your manual). Also check your owner’s manual for more details about oil changes.

Give us a call to book your next oil change service.
