5 Ways We Recommend You Prepare Your Trailer for Winter❄️
Cold weather can be tough on trailers, especially with snow, ice, road salt, and freezing temperatures. A little maintenance before winter can help prevent expensive repairs and keep your trailer ready when you need it.
1. Check your tires — Inspect tread, air pressure, and overall condition. Cold temperatures can cause tire pressure to drop.
2. Inspect your brakes and wheel bearings — Make sure everything is operating properly and grease/service components where needed.
3. Check your lights and electrical connections — Test all lights and inspect wiring and plugs for damage, corrosion, or moisture.
4. Inspect seals, doors, and moving parts — Look for cracked seals or areas where water can get in, and lubricate hinges, locks, jacks, and couplers.
5. Give it a good clean and inspection — Wash off dirt and road grime, check the frame and underside, and address any rust or damage before winter conditions make it worse.
Whether you’re using your trailer all winter or storing it until spring, taking a little time to prepare it now can help extend its life and keep it dependable.
