Rockton was a great show this weekend!

Impact Motorsports you guys and gals put together a great show!

I had a lot of fun in figure 8 this weekend. 1st in my heat, a close race with Josh Beechey only taking the win by a bumper length right at the end of the race. Worked my way up from the tail of the pack, picking my chances to pass others.

The feature was wild, 8 cars! So many people to have to navigate through, got hung up on the first lap behind a car that died. Had to work my way up from the back of the pack again. So again trying my best to stay calm and drive my hardest out there. Slowly working my way up to the front. Taking 2nd place on the last lap! Wheeling around on 2 wheels, black Betty was starting to show her squirrelly side, man that cars fast. Thanks Kent Taylor for giving me the opportunity to race that car.

I want to thank Colton Crooks for talking me into changing some broken and beaten up parts on black Betty and installing a new control arm, axel, and wheel bearing. That I am sure helped me not to break until the race was over.

I want to thank everyone this year that I have had the pleasure of racing against. It's been loads of fun!

I want to thanks my sponsors: Jenn Taylor at Oakville Blueprinting, Brian Prins at Clarence service center, Colton's wallet!

I also want to thank my rock Stephanie Jackson! Keeping me calm while I curse at my cars when I'm fixing them. Recording all my races so I can study where I went wrong or where I can improve out on the track

Next year's goal - feature win

See everyone next year! We will do it again

Well we were at Markham Fair 2023 last night, great little track for figure 8 racing. Top 2 cars from the heats moved into the feature. I finished second in my heat by about 1 foot over the 941 Brandyn Milligan. That got me to the feature where I ran down to another close race where I lost by a cars length to the 117 Brandon gansekole.

Took home some hardware and got a great photo of my car and the first place winner with the fireworks in the background.

I want to thank Devon Germain and Kristi Germain and their Impact Motorsports team for putting on a great show as they always do!

I want to thank my wife as she has stepped up her game by making the shows/cheering me on/pit girl/taping all the races so I can upload them to the Crazy 8 Crew group.

Finally I want to thank my sponsors:
Tonight's sponsors were Kents wallet, Kent Taylor you build one hell of a car, man that thing was fast! Thanks for giving me the chance to buy this car! Thanks for letting me use your battery and fuel cell.
Jenn Taylor at Oakville Blueprinting for all the awesome stickers they really stand out on that car!

I want to thank my teammate and married in cousin Colton Crooks for always helping me get my car's fixed up for all the shows.

I want to thank Emily Maniacco for all the awesome food that was brought out and cooked at last night's show, that steak was awesome.

Well, this was one hell of a weekend. 2 trophy's and a sign. Some pocket cash and a lot of fun!

Saturday: Blackstock Fair 2023 drove an Altima in figure 8 to a heat victory, broke a strut in the feature making very difficult to corner.

Sunday: figure 8 team show at Woodstock Fair 2023 with Colton Crooks first place in our heat. Second place in the feature. Colton carries us to the money in both heat and feature!

I broke a lot of parts on both cars this weekend

I want to thank Colton and Geff Mark and Jason McGregor for helping me fix up my Altima to get it back out for the feature.

I want to thank Pat, Donald Thompson and Colton for helping me get the car back out for the feature after tearing a control arm off the passenger side of the car. I also want to thank Mr. Gansekole the 117 for giving me a lower control arm so I could come out and compete against him in the feature.

Thanks Impact Motorsports for putting on awesome figure 8 shows, allowing our to leave everything on the track.allowimg us to try new things like team racing and for flipping me back over after I found myself on my roof at the end of the feature.

Also thanks to everyone that comes out to watch us do what we love, race and wreck stuff

Now back to the shop to see what the damage is on both cars, see what needs to be fixed and what I can live with before the next race. See everyone at West Niagara Fair 2023 Friday .

Sorry everyone I have been slacking on posts.

This is our LS Lincoln that we took down to Ohio about a month ago. We finished 9th out of 25 ish cars. We were a little on the underbuilt side of the heat but held our own. Colton did a great job driving the car. Next time we will have to take our build to the next level. The car still runs, we broke the driveshaft. What shall we put the LS in next?

This was an exciting trip, got to see alot of old cars you don't see in Canada anymore. Alot of gremlins and pintos I wish I could have saved from destruction. I want to thank the impact motorsports duo that led the convoy down to Ohio and showed us around.

Homemade headers. In the derby cars they don't matter that much as long as they are drawing the head upwards. We are trying something new with these oval collectors just because we have the materials laying around. Trampoline legs are my favorite tube to use, it's made out of galvanized so it doesn't rust to badly. They are also easy enough to find laying around.

Picked up one of the cleanest cars I have ever bought for derby. Not sure what show I am running it in but it will be entertaining. It's going to get some paint and a cage over the next couple months.
