Customer complaint: 'My furnace won't light'

Diagnosis: Very ambitious Mud Daubers.

This bug nest completely shut down an RV furnace - Believe it or not, this is one of the most common furnace failures we see. Mud daubers love RVs and can build nests inside furnaces, water heaters, refrigerator vents, and other appliances.

In this case, the nest covered the burner assembly and ignition electrodes, preventing the furnace from lighting at all. Before replacing expensive parts, it's always worth checking for unwanted guests—especially if your RV has been sitting for a while.
