Two right side pictures of the KL prototype that would pave the way in the early ‘50’s for the “K” models and later the Ironhead Sportster line; first is the complete running motor assembly, picture probably taken in late ‘40’s or early ‘50’s and the second, just cases and cylinders, is believed to be around the ‘70’s to early ‘80’s in Harley’s engineering department! This unit would in later years find its way to the Wall of Power display at the Harley-Davidson museum in Milwaukee where it still resides today.
